It is a nostalgia trip for me. I almost getting teary eyed when I hit a new PQ and remember doing it with my coworkers back in the day. I actually think people like me are more likely to stay due to the nostalgia affect than the players whose this is their first time playing it.
and then you realize that doing a PQ in a group here gives bad xp and is a waste of time after that initial nostalgia

Thanks to the Devs though I had a lot of fun here when I/we all really needed it

Just offering my personal reason to answer your question

I would say this is part of the problem To many gateways. When somewhat easily obtained gear is 3 levels lower than top gear, its an issue. Free up vanq and invader sets. You are making gear too important. By all means keep the top tier "special" but other than that free it up some.

well personally as casual player i agree with the statement that you just come here to "see how it was" then once you hit invader you basically quit because there is no end game raids nor special pvp events apart endless rvr zergfarm with occasional capital. This is not the devs issue but MMORPG game itself: remember that devs did great work yet they revived an incompleted and dead before arrival game so you cannot expect much from content.

Idk if this pertains to the topic because I kind of grazed over a lot of the comments but personally I think that a lot of people enter RoR with the mentality of other games like league of legends and then people tell you to "stop feeding" or **** like that and it just makes me lol.

In some aspect I guess you could "feed" the other side but even giving a warbands worth of kills to the enemy faction doesn't allow them to fly to the capital city, buy sovereign, and come back to the keep siege or whatever aspect of the game you're playing.

I'm not saying you should just willy nilly charge in and die and give kills I just think the idea of thinking you can "feed" the enemy side and it has an impact is taken from the context of a different game and imposing toxicity in a game that doesn't give a **** about that.

It's natural that some of the population drops off but at the same time the bulk of your population are casuals or just people with real life commitments and they aren't/can't log on at midnight or 5am to get gear progression. It really kills peoples motivation to play. If the only way to get forts and cities are to push during off hours then something needs to be reworked. Giving 2 pity medallions from end zones when you have Vanquisher( which took longer than invader to get and breaking down Invaders 5:1 is a bad deal when you compare the prices) means you only need 110 end zones to get your set, wow!

I can already picture the replies of the apologists saying how I or anyone else questioning how things are just wants free ****. There needs to be a more normal person hours friendly system in place.

The PVE grind isn't any more enjoyable but at least you aren't stonewalled by people roleplaying defending keeps like its the battle of Stalingrad. You have to lose to win in the current system and that is a critical design flaw.

I have realized I will never get endgame gear, just cause cities seem to pop only at night when I am asleep or when I am at work. Really kills your enthusiasm for playing. I joined a guild straight away, I join our warband's 2 or 3 times a week but in the end there is no progress as I have a job and real life stuff.
