Yes you can. I soloed to rr50 with a Black orc.
Now days when i dont group i run solo with a choppa or rSH.
People say that Choppas cant solo at all... not true, its about knowing what you do in this game.
"Solo" doesnt meen that you fight 1v1, there are plenty of ways to "fight" and take advantage. Know when to join in to a fight or run.

It is easier to "solo" with a ranged and run the RvR areas and support other fights etc.
You can always join a random warband and leave when you want to, the game doesnt force you in to grouping, but yes grouping is easier but not a must.

Thread can be closed, the OP opted-out, because there has to be some minimum interaction with other humans. :P
