As someone who didn't play forts on live I have a noob question. Is there any way for latecomers to participate even when the population isn't capped? Playing on Order (though I assume this happens on both sides), it seems that the second the main wbs go into the fort there are 3 or more Destro 6 mans camping the portal to the fort and ganking the merciless hell out of anyone who attempts to go near it. Furthermore, the portal can't be used if you are in combat so with one DoT you are SOL. Which is annoying but I guess there is nothing preventing them from doing it/saying that they can't, it just defeats people from getting to play forts.

Is there another portal somewhere? I thought I heard something about it being in a city but I couldn't find where. It seems to me that the main struggle in non-EU primetime hours is that to even play the fort you need to be there right at the beginning while the Warbands can protect you from the gankers, otherwise there is no way to participate even if you want to. Disclaimer: I really don't know how the forts work, do the attackers and defenders both use the same portal in the rvr lake or do the defenders go somwhere else? I assume that defenders can use the one in the lake since why else would desto be guarding it when they are the ones attacking.

Forts should be open world type experience for everyone.
I feel the same. The system intented well but the other day it ripped apart the Dwarf warband. No reservations, despite have been running in the campaign for hours on end. Unhappy people all around
