very simplifying
rvr can be divided into two phases:
1st zerg sitting on flags, leveling keeps stars
2nd zerg is moving for enemy keep
repeat in next zone

Lack of small scale = lack of casual players. Not everyone have time to spend 2+ hours ingame and participate in wb play. Roaming was the way to jump in during spare time and have couple of quick fights and slowly progress your toon. Now it is almost impossible because you either get rollstomped by zerg or get no points because of the malus.

I fear the population will drastically drop in the next few weeks if the AAO nerf is not removed soon

You don't punish the zerg, you reward the underdog. Punishing the zerg does not mean players will log on the oposing faction, they might just go play something else, wich is the worst case scenario.
Punishment and rewards have long been discussed in psychology and mmo rpgs. I belive there must be a reason for malus that we, players, don't know about. Because it's a bad and frustating idea.

Just because some missed the message :)

BO Ticks :
ORvR reworks is 70% implemented atm (on the base of the blueprint presented last year). Finishing and refining work has started these last days.
-Some adjustments were planned to reduce ticks amount on the base of number of players around. Never deployed for some reasons. But it should be in the next weeks.
-Some adjustment are planned about supplies too, like dropping it at warcamps.
AAO :
At a personnal level, i share your concern with AAO systems (past and present), and options are discussed behind the curtain about it. But this wasn't the OP diagnosis/point.
You got your response.
Devs will consider your feedback in later changes.
Thanks for your time.
