you limiting your play style to AoE is astonishing, like obsessed.
game don't have to support your limited view. actually, shouldn't.
play aoe class, simple.
aoe assassin is unheard of any game.
why trying to turn most class into aoe?
A. I'm bored, wanna try other class but keep this aoe morale bomb meta
B. to whine after it's rejected
C. wanna BW with WH outfit.
D. Others.
btw, new survey system is cool.
Yes, the primary way I enjoy this game is in my guild warband. We try not to run headless-chicken setups but try to make warband perform well, and avoid bad picks in order to be capable of fighting efficiently against large enemy numbers. Classes limited due to their lack of AoE/utility - are not wanted.
Occasionally I managed to get my WE into our wb regardless, to test it, and to try maximizing the possible potential the class had for Wb purpose - while the dmg was decent, the utility was lacking, and the meleerange was limiting it from comparing with classes like Sorcs (higher dmg) or Mara/Magus/dpsZealot (better utility) - while actually en par with Choppa (mediocre dmg, mediocre utility) or SH (limited AoE, meagre utility) - both of which we don't generally run in our WB due to the classes being badly balanced for warband purposes.
While my WE might have been pumping out 1.5-3k AoE DPS, it doesn't compare to Sorc pumping 2.5-4.5k while retaining option for ranged bombing, and obviously nowhere close +5k DPS values that BW can reach. (numbers may vary, but trying to do estimates on average numbers expected in average fights)
[other interesting numbers, at best during Ch22 farm, managed to reach 5.3k AoE DPS output on my WE while tryharding - on Sorc managed then about 9k AoE DPS - and on my BW about 12k AoE DPS]
I keep trying many classes, but WE is one of my favourites, and I was very hopeful that the game, having learned from mistakes of live-server crappy balancing, would be open to changes and one day lead to better state of balance where more classes can compete for warband/6man spots on equal grounds, and not be excluded due to bad state of balance.
I have something like 17 classes in T4 range, with SL(38) Mara (33) SW(32) still waiting to be levelled to 40, with dozen of them being over rr40 and 5 of them above rr60. So no, I'm not exclusively limiting myself to just Warband meta classes, nor just AoE classes, nor just dps or healers or tanks, or just to Destro or Order, but trying about every class there is (sadly 20 char is max).
Since guild warbands is how I enjoy the game, I can only hope that more of my alts will have future chances of shining in said environment, and once Forts/Cities come, I won't be "locked" on Sorc/BW spot if I want be useful for my guild warband, but would have the chance to play maybe my WE, or my WH, or my Choppa, or my BG, or my WL - and not decrease our warbands performance due to class related imbalances and lack of warband utility.
The purpose of balance, and I hope many others will agree, should be to ensure more classes have options to shine on equal footing when it comes to endgame ORvR - and should actively not be pursuing balance changes where classes get nerfed to such extent that they end up serving no actual purpose in endgame ORvR.
