If this ever go as far as an implementation of 1v1 scenario or any kind of arena play you kinda have to put ballance into it as it becomes a part of the actuall game. Actually anything that allows you to gain, xp, loot, renown, influence etz needs some sort of ballance aproach to it.

Even if it would be ever implemented, it won’t give you any rewards — therefore no balance for it. It would be just for fun as it was already mentioned. Just a real mini-game to have some fun when you are very tired of ORvR and SCs.

First of all: I love 1v1 dueling (in fact, I love it more than 'that other format' I talk about all the time). However, I don't agree with a 1v1 scenario, and feel that this would simply motivate more solo play/playing on your own. This (in conjunction with PuG SC) would have more of an adverse effect on the other pops, or even possibly kill off the other scenarios popping altogether (if the game had a huge population, it wouldn't): group pops during NA hours, in particular, would be nigh extinct if people could queue for either the pug sc or a 1v1 sc (I've noticed NA players tend to be more 1v1/solo inclined), and I don't believe 1v1 should be something 'actively' endorsed in WAR.

I agree with PtP here, while a 1v1 sc would be simply awesome, it would take these players away from rvr and group play where the main body of this game lies and hurt the population (which is already hurting the non-EU/NA timezones). Lack of pop in rvr is definitely what contributed to the death of this game on live.

However, I see no reason why it couldnt be implemented as a weekend only idea or very short duration "championship" style ladder event. =-)

Well, i understand where you come from, but implementing it would still be a part of the game and not really optimized for everyone to play on their mains due to no 1v1 ballance and create issues. I just don't think thats a very good idea in general. Mini games are best suited for solo stuff.

Well, i understand where you come from, but implementing it would still be a part of the game and not really optimized for everyone to play on their mains due to no 1v1 ballance and create issues. I just don't think thats a very good idea in general. Mini games are best suited for solo stuff.

You can’t always play on your mains even in already existing scales (dps healers and WH/WE in RvR warbands, aoe bombers in small scale and etc) so this is not a really valid argument.
There are builds and even classes which were designed to be topdogs in solo encounters, of course, some classes and builds are better for large scale, some for small scale. There is no chance that every “main” will be good in every aspect of the game.

Strickly speaking 1v1 events, once a week or once a month would be cool. There has been some in the past GM supervised and quite an ok crowd showed up if only to watch. Tournament style stuff. Organizing that would be cool. Would be even cooler in an artificially fenced area to prevent infinite kite, as was discussed back then. Clear rules about potions and stuff. Could give a cosmetic trophy or something.

Anything more, like a permanent 1v1 thing would probably be too much.

As a person that Solo's as much as possible and looks for 1v1's as much as possible, I dont QUE for SC's now, I dont join WB's hardly as it is. That all being said, I wouldnt do this either.. I find all it would be is Shammys / AM's Kiting around MDPS and not much else.. so No thanks
