@lefze: Exactly. As lowbie you stand no chance 1v1 with a lvl 40. So, for those who like soloing, it is obligatory to zerg.

@Darosh: The problem is EXACTLY that it is ordinary to get steamrolled like that. Personally I do not care who the magus is. On live I can clearly remember eating alive every magus no matter the spec and guild and reputation - AS FAR THE GEAR GAP WAS IN LOGICAL LIMITS. This is not a brag, simply because it is archetype. This is also the reason why when I got 3 shot I was staring my screen in disbelief.

I have no problem with lvling and progression. GW2 removed it and failed.I miss so much the slower smaller scale orvr is lower tiers where personal skill and single target specs mattered.

Here 2 more ss dieing from the same WE next to my WB while they were semi afking. Important: She jumped me, I managed to escape after getting her 70% HP's. A healer got me
back to 100%, I tried again to kill her WHILE SHE WAS UNSTEALTHED but ofc got destroyed.

Eh, pretty much what I'm trying to say. BiS gear is REALLY easy to get, but the majority of the population is playing so unorganized and in such a lazy way that they don't stand a chance at getting it. The sad truth is that for the players to realize they actually have a good shot at getting BiS gear the campaign has to be designed in a way that forces the population to actually personally kill people, and not just blob and apply some aoe dot here and there and be content with it, thinking that they will never get conq anyways, so why bother playing seriously.

You can't teach someone if (s)he doesn't want to learn. I don't see that much questions in game "what can I do better" but I see plenty of whine like this thread.

All too true, which is why I used the word "force", not teach. It might not even be doable at this point, the quality of the RvR is indescribably bad, and the blame lies on the playerbase, and the playerbase alone.

Edit: Might not be doable without client control, but actually making killingblows/deaths in zone visible through other means than Enemy might go a long way in fixing the mentality. I would love to see kilingblows matter more in the game, as it is now the whole thing is just too obscure for most people to even get a clue about how bad they are actually playing.

This is not live, classes were changed and you were killed by one of the better players in community. So it might make some sense to care who killed you and see that you were outclassed and outgeared.

You run around solo, with bad positioning, with no guard, with no heals, and moan when a Magus in BIS gear and x8 stacks kills you?

You're low level, probably have low resistances and toughness. Magus has an elemental debuff, I also roam with a zealot to further debuff resistances to essentially 0. The damage is completely justified given how long it takes to setup, whereas WL is durp hurp KB in comparison.

You keep on posting screenshots that show you trying to go up against players that you wouldn't be able to faceroll either way - note: this is not live, you'll painfully learn that once you realize that all the fancy stuff (sov/df/wf/lotd) isn't a thing anymore... at last.

A competitive Magus in (close to? not a diskman myself) BiS gear, who likely runs his dreaded dueling/roam spec, and a RR80 BiS WE killing you - a sub40 - effortlessly isn't shocking, its to be expected. One would think you'd stop feeding Peter the double digit freenown (I doubt he is the one jumping you, for said double digit freenown), once you died to him twice...

@ Hargrim: You can make keep takes in lower tiers easier, so small populations can take them. No need for the 30mins lord stomping of t4. As I said, I liked smaller scale orvr because it promoted skill play. I can remember that when game was dieing, I could get many kills with 400 aao. This was the most fun part. Srly. But after some time in RoR, can find no way to get such an experience. In t1, yes IT IS doable. But t1 lasts only a bit. And then in t4, well...premades, zerg and practically no space between the zergs to run solo.
This is an average amount of credit I was getting from soloing back on live.

I could provide you dozens of such ss, but this is not my point. Bring back smaller scale orvr Bring back low tiers. Again: keep lords may as well be removed or replaced by champs.
I did not expect to win easily vs a r40. But the way you get stomped is disturbing.
Edit: @last posters: you missed entirely the point. Exactly because I stand no chance against such a player, I should actually not be fighting against him at 1st place. That is, separate tiers.

Keep lords scale with population in zone. 12 people can take a keep. If you want small scale go to the zone where small scale is happening. If other people are not interested in small scale whose fault is that?

Also, I'm sure your perfect experience of killing dozens of people on live was not on a fully geared char with some gigantic renown rank, right?

Try playing a SH, you will know what is engie damage: getting 3k+ snipes, 1k2 damage per tick focused fire, being killed by SF+IR+turret only. Or you will be introduced to our lovely WLs simply globalising you or killing you casually by sending pet alone and finishing you with a pounce+FtW. Then you will also meet the 'fair' WH wich ambush you and kills you before you leave stun, and if by miracle you leave stun there is still 4k+ damage waiting to tick on you even if you perfect kite from that point.

I get where Caledor is coming from, and even with bolster there is a huge discrepancy.

You have to ask yourself: do I want to be in a ghost town with varying degrees of activity (varying being either dead, or meh), or would I prefer to get my ass handed to me a little more (yet still be able to contribute with a WB/good guild to help) in T4, where the activity is plenty?

Note: you would do well to stop the comparisons to live. RoR is a completely different ballgame. (For what it's worth, no Magus should ever lose to a WL 1v1 if spec'd properly...dunno what dudes you were fighting on live)
