Plenty of people start warbands and then give leadership to someone else, if any pug leader was a decent leader he/she would have his/her own guild and selectively make a proper warband. Pugs are exactly that, a bunch of randoms joining forces to somewhat matter a little more in the field and are not to be taken seriously. A decent 10 man can take on any pug, a skilled 6 man with the right comp can take on any pug wb, that alone goes a long way explaining what's up with pugs. Good players do not pug, they join good guilds or play solo/duo/premade with coms.
Many will probably not like hearing this words but it is the reality of MMO's.

Keep your pug expectation to a minimum and then cut it in a half.
This really depends on the leader. If it's the typical afk WB lead absolutely. If the WB lead is good and players half decent then a pug WB is quite effective.
That said depends on how pug like the WB is, some pug WB are actually containing a core of players that form a good Chunk of the WB and fill the rest with others.

I think expecting players to stay on leader , know there class and have a basic grasp of fighting is the minimum you should expect,
Alas this is too much for some people , that’s y some leaders will not run pug wb,s
It’s also “for me anyways” not enjoyable too constantly type basic orders that people don’t follow ,

When most of the organized warbands of the server has no clue how to play, how can you expect any pug warband to function? Especially NA time from what I've played is a complete mess where even 6 mans can bully around guild/alliance warbands.

And with the apparent incoming implementation of liniments things will get even worse, seeing as 90% don't even use pots. Pugs will get slaughtered even harder, if that's even possible at the rate they fall today.

Not talking about numbers, as a warband is a warband no matter which region the players belong to. It's a matter of skill (and probably a great deal of dedication).

Sure, to an extent, but if you have an organized group of conq geared rr70s fighting 2 groups of organized anni geared rr40s, it's going to be more difficult than if the 2 groups were conq geared rr70s. I think that's his point.

Guild "warbands" in NA time are more like "one group of dudes on their mains, one group on semi geared alts, and half a group of low level alts doing stuff". There is no equivalent of CNTK or TUP/Phalanx on destro or order. Train Wreck, Drow, and rocks are the most organized guilds but even they have a hard time filling a full warband with 40s in good gear.

It really is a different, much smaller scale game in NA time.

I try to listen to PUG wb leaders when i join, did they ever get warband assistants to work? Seems that some people could help with the leaders keeping groups organized etc. Not sure if that works or not.

This precisely. Normally a Train Wreck warband is like 12 people, with maybe 1/3 of them on mains, with added SoD members and such :D

from what I've seen from late night EU aka NA there is also no sense in bringing a 12/24 man bomb.
not enough player density to justify a bomb specc unless some side finally finds the enemy keep on there map.

NA is good to roam. Not much more.
