Thing is that was never entirely true. Females are well represented in all the various Elf/Eldar ranges, mordheim had sisters of sigmar and Necromunda had Escher.
You have the Adepta Sorroritas in 40k and p
women are well represented in the fiction (including divrse sexuality, check out the Commissar Caine novels).
Women in 40k and warhammer fantady tend to be strong characters equal to their male countetparts.
It is worth noting though, that the context of female representation has significantly changed over time. Contemporary representation of women in GW fiction pretty much follows the gentrified liberal zeitgeist, with women being heroic, serious and complex characters. But before that, women in Warhammer worlds were pure exploitation, made for honest, hard working, but a bit kinky nerds.
Warhammer 40k was pure BDSM. John Blanche, GW's former art director and illustrator, used to freelance for goth, fetishist, biker magazines, and it damn well shows. Latex, high heels and chains everywhere and on everything with a vagyna. You had:
BDSM goth chick aka Dark Eldar Wyches
BDSM punk chicks aka Escher
BDSM nuns aka Sisters of Battle (my tabletop army

)
BDSM Amazons aka Sisters of Silence
Old School BDSM aka Callidus Assassins
Hard Core BDSM aka Sisters Repentia
Demon BDSM aka Daemonettes
And it **** rocked tbh. Every model felt like a cover from the Heavy Metal magazine.
Sadly, Warhammer kinda lost it's spunk over the years, with this heavy shift to more serious writing, and more levelheaded characters. It just isn't compatible with the outlandish visuals of the world, which are sadly also being gradually toned down.
