Re: [WL] Guardian spec ?
I remember you from last night Pug SCs. That was not a balanced environment. As a WL, all I get are SH's whinings and hate tells. Nobody else complains so hard. Some, but not as many. I perform exactly the same on my WH, he's higher in RR but I can take down 2-3 average peeps as well if I jump them and make no mistakes.Aceboltz wrote:Do you think the class may be a little bit over the top?kryss wrote:it's very easy to bring someone to the grave ...

Re: [WL] Guardian spec ?
For my build at least in a 6man or WB I'd rather be playing any of my other characters. It excels in small scale but brings almost nothing to a large group, and as soon as there's enough people around to be able to burst the cat down fast I'm basically useless. Since the game isn't balanced around 1v1 I'd say there are other classes that perform better in groups and therfore they don't seem too over the top in competitive play.Aceboltz wrote:Do you think the class may be a little bit over the top?kryss wrote:it's very easy to bring someone to the grave ...

FTR even in small scale there are plenty of classes I can't handle, especially any healer or regen tank, your class just happens to be cat food 1v1 so I can see why you would find them OP.

Thank you again Catnap. Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Re: [WL] Guardian spec ?
If you're doing much PVE leveling, Furious Mending makes solo grinding -very- fast with zero downtime as long as you juggle aggro right and fight in areas without large mob clusters.
As for gear, I mix 3 conq/3 dom which gives you +132 STR and +132 Wounds from the bonuses, with Wounds talis in all slots. I'm at 850 STR on Elf, 8.7k HP and 350+ Str/160+ WS bonus to Lion (wish we could see its stats).
Tactics: Brute Force, Pack Synergy, Stalker, Flanking Tactics.
Spec: FO/Pounce/Lenonine Frenzy/Stalker (at RR 50+)/Pet stun.
I played for a while without FO, and now that I have it I wouldn't go back. A flat undefendable attack with 1k armor reduction is too good to pass up for the other Guardian tactics/spell interrupt ability/guardian point bonus. Boosts your damage, pet damage, all the physical damage...
I played Guardian from the start, so I don't have the numbers to say whether Hunter/Axeman specs do more sustained damage or better burst, though I suspect they do, and they suffer less from a pet death--if/when I get the few extra conq pieces I need for a secondary set, I will slot them with str talis and respec to see.
As others have said, in a straight matchup I find SH are cat food, as are most Sorcs and WEs (if they drop on you out of stealth, try to pet stun them before they stun you--it's funny when they land at the same time and we're both flat on our butts for 3 secs
And even if you can't, you can command pet to attack them even while stunned). Choppas and Maras are usually nearly as easy, though more here depends on tankiness/gear/spec/RR and if you catch the Choppa without any rage. If they survive your burst and down a pot/mara starts stance healing, it becomes iffier.

Re: [WL] Guardian spec ?
Seems I'm the only guardian skipping FO. My logic is that I solo 99% of the time, all I do is pug SCs and solo roam. FO is probably the best call in group. I find that very often I am not attacking the same target as my cat so my FO wouldn't help much in those situations, and since I'm all about the cat I'd rather have the boosted stats on him and guardian M4 (which I imagine comes in handy in duels vs healers/tanks or keep sieges, don't have it yet). If I get swarmed by 3 melee and a RDPS, I keep the melee on me and send my cat at the ranged, usually the melee are too distracted to notice my LF'd cat destroying their ranged. If I'm guarding a flag in an SC my cat is usually helping fights nearby if there's any close enough, if not then sometimes I have my pet stay on the flag and I stay at range so anyone trying to take the flag has to either fight neverending cats or try to chase me down, either way if I can't win the fight they are wasting a ton of time and not capping the flag anytime soon (it's crazy how many people will chase down a lone player in an SC giving my team plenty of time to win objectives). FO might be the better call in many situations but guardian is plenty viable without it.

Re: [WL] Guardian spec ?
Initial impression of this spec is good so far, VERY limited testing mind you.
How can you tell the tactics/abilities are having the extra effects you speak of? The delves do not have anything additional listed?

Re: [WL] Guardian spec ?
Unfortunately some changes don't get documented well or at all. Good start is to read .ab changelist and all the patchnotes, but got some of that info from talking to devs otherwise I never would have known, like +movespeed on stalker.

nice thinking mate. i agree that some legends in the server still going on. ninja nerf/buff 's are the best way to see if that whiney nerd kids actually aware of the balance. i'd defiently do the same if i got the power.Torquemadra wrote:Some things I don't document to gauge actual play and effect over people instinctively going knee jerk and trying to create a self fulfilling prophecy and i can amend on the fly. I have to admit, the 'self fulfilling prophecy' comment made me laugh. Thank you, as it's Monday morning and I'm at work instead of making goblins pee themselves.
