Something pointed out elsewhere is that dps tanks become the default melee dos class in pugs do to melee classes needing some organised backup.

I have noticed this with my slayer and Ironbreaker.

i used to agree, but now believe there is no point in melee trying to dps in pugs. you just get stuck in and screen your ranged guys, hoping they spec glass
