it would be not a breanch of personal privacy as long it block only war buddy program or disable dev command usable by cheats, what you think?? cheats work that way, they increase speed, teleport, give no damage etc, most things can be done by dev autorization....... you could scan if game let you move on z ass too much that would mean that you are flying etc
Simples things will give simples result with no privacy invasion. You have to monitor war.exe behaviour no all process on pc, nor which porn site ppl are visiting...
Also i only know war buddy as cheat program, have a dedicated anti-war buddy programm incorpored in lanucher would help more and will require less attention, or you can just look directly to suspecious behaviour ( when server will be in good state). As i said , 1-2 ppl that could dedicate to look upon cheater at some hours would do well.

I'm not just pro or cos any option; just, as warhammer show in past, report and ban give no 100% chance to ban truly cheater nor to find all ppl that are suppose to cheat, it will be better have so kind of dev direct work on that( no not now)
It would just solve the problem look on those 5-6 cheater we have around directly, with out ip ban, letting them use same ip and get constant attention if re roll and re-cheat again.
They will become bored to get banned and have to reroll 80 levels of renow at some point i hope.

Cheatings hard to spot without a anti cheat program in the client. Most of these cheats will be just pointerscans altering wherever these variables are stored. They aren't dev commands its just altering the variable where the client stores positioning and speed and the like. They just alter the variable and all the pointers in the client run the new variable. I dont want to name programs but Id guess everyone know the main cheat scanner that most hackers use.

Unless you have monitoring that flag strange activity like the mythic servers had theres no way to detect them. I dont know how hard that would be to implement but even mythics detection had a lot of false positives like when there was all those bans when speed procs were stacking for gobbos.

mmos usually change where variables are stored with each build so the offsets have to be refound but unless you're going to rebuild the client then things like warbuddy will continue to work.

Really it will have to be a combined effort from the players to stop cheating.

I know that the admin would monitor people as invisible flying shaman. They would talk to you if you were doing naughty things and you get an invisible target with the shaman icon. I had one talk to me when I was killing people for the airballoon quest on those columns you could get up onto by jumping up the left side of des warcamp in Lotd and got a warning. From that moment I was always paranoid about exploiting stuff.

I was called a cheater today during RVR event, just because i've been taking 1 dmg -,-
After relogging problem got solved. Seen same thing when attacking other players, happens sometimes.
Anyone know this bug?

Don't call anyone cheater if you're not shure about it. It's funny when you're called, but when i think i could be banned for this, it aint funny anymore...

Bottom line. Write down the names of characters you see cheating and get video or screenshots. The developers can easily see what accounts they belong to.

People like this thrive off ruining an experience for others. Its what makes justice so sweet.

Have to agree with Azarael on this one, hackusation's can be and have been, demonstrably in the case of this thread, a little off the mark.

I had a thought last night, don't the Dev's have some special powers in-game we can use to mess with legitimate haxxors? I mean when they log in we could teleport them to the arsehole of nowhere, strip them naked, take all their gold and mounts, then make them walk back. Upon arrival at their locations of residence we could rinse and repeat. Maybe even take away their immunity to fall damage and toss them across the map a few times for the lulz.
I mean we could all have some fun with that, record it and upload to youtube too for everyone's amusement. I think I said before fun isn't fun if it comes at the expense of others. Best trolls could be devs if they put their mind to it me thinks.
