I'm glad we have strong alpha males on the server who hand out proper beatings. So strong, so manly!

Just a question, why should a third-party website, where some old WAR players have made their own community, hand over the reigns of moderation to "official" RoR mod team?

If I were to launch a Finnish fan group where the remaining maybe 5-10 Finnish speaking players talk WAR/RoR related stuff, should a RoR team member be given rights to moderate? (note, I don't participate in any social networking sites and no such group exists, it's just a theoretical question...)

It's a fan page, i got all information from my russian officer.

This ban is compeletly unfair and we as a whole Phalanx guild with you teinhala.

This attitude isn't good for server. I understand any kind of acc selling risking the project but hey there are **** loads of websites on the web and you can try to sell acc on them. The question is, how you gonna control all of them ?

As i said before teinhala isnt a stupid guy who supports acc selling in public ? Is it makes sense at all unless it's a dull joke ?

Im not gonna do any trashtalk about your gm here, cause i dont want to fuel the situation, i still have hope, that you can clear your mind and judge fairly.
It feels so bad to be not able to talk to you from same position as its pretty sure speaking out directly will result in more bans. Communication is not working well under this circumstances.
But communication is the only thing to solve the issue. The hostile part should speak truely about the reasons. Mostly its hurted feelings, thats causes trouble like that.
Still, in general, this ban is not about goldselling, accountselling or anything rules-related any more. You know it.
Get rid of all emotions about this case, be a neutral judge, get a second person for russian community you can trust and who is not devoted to one of the sides to put this person in this VK page for moderation. Maybe thats acceptable for everyone?
Well, since you need a serious response.

You talk to a person that has a problem with you and try to understand what the issue is and how you can resolve it. This is particularly important when an authority figure has a problem with you and you're too dense to realize it might actually be sourced from legitimate reasons that makes them reasonably more suspicious of your actions. Instead of assuming legitimate reasons because you're clearly so innocent, you take this as unwarranted hostility and respond with open animosity, which in turn those around you amplify into even greater animosity to the point it becomes a meme and any authority figures are so badly misaligned in your mind they're all the enemy because how could anyone possibly interpret a mountain of evidence as any reason to...

Ah, but I went a bit far there.

Deflection is another great way to deal with hostility, because then you can avoid any real conversation being taken by the aggressor and simply point at how hostile they were to you in the first place. This is also generally quite useful when you have a large group of people that will happily parrot this animosity back at the person who was initially hostile towards you, avoiding any sort of resolution in the process by creating a false dichotomy where you're so right because popular opinion is on your side, even thought it's really just an echo chamber that happens to agree with you, and any legitimate complaints or solutions are made to seem unreasonable because everything was just so hostile in...

Man, I'm not very good at this.

Honestly, I don't want anything to do with moderating a Russian site. I wouldn't be very good at it (what with the not speaking Russian at all), and it's not like there's a whole lot of people jumping at a chance to do so. You might find it surprising not a lot of people want to work moderating a site where they KNOW walking into it that the entire site is going to be hostile towards them, to such a degree it's better if they just don't show up to do it at all. I mean, that's basically the excuse isn't it? We don't feel comfortable with Alena there because everyone really doesn't like her because she's hostile towards the entire community. But, wait, is she hostile towards the entire community, or was it a small group of people that were apparently responsible (or at least complicit) in the very things that she's supposed to be investigating? What a tricky situation!

When it comes down to it, the only thing that's really going to change things is if Teinhala wants to arrange something that will work for both of us. I've made a few offers, they were outright rejected. He made a few offers, that didn't really meet the needs we had. The position of power is in our court, as we really don't care about having access to his site, but he has a pretty strong vested interest in access to ours. This is all just posturing for giving someone a break on something that we probably would have banned over anyway (considering the other factors involved and the history of the case), which is REALLY something I don't like doing to begin with because it alludes that the more power or influence you have, the more I would be willing to work with it. That is precisely the point where I grow more than a little tired trying to find some way to justify letting it go.

Perhaps your Russian guildie lost something in translation. Maybe he doesn't agree with our perspective and left that bit out.

When rule violations, which were not dealt with, happened in the past, then yes. And "reign of moderation" is a strong word, when it is only one mod among others.
