They have explained their point of view a lot of times on the forums.

The gear you need to compete isn't hard to get. Conq/Domi isn't required at all. Those are just long term goals or something for people with a lot playtime.

We are still playing an mmo. And part of it are the grind to get something better. How far it might be and how small the increase.

You just want to play. That's great. But other players want to get better in the long run.

It is a motivation thing for players.
And yes to be competitive get Ruin Gear and nowadays very fast your anni gear and you are done.

if you have a lucky zone you can make 100-200 medalls in a hour, the prob are not the system or the cost of the set. the prob ist that the player are not play as a team, search a guild or friends and you have no porblems to get the new sets


and btw, the game is for fun not for gear you dont need the best gear to have fun

Conq/Domi is obtainable in 1 week if you play properly.

Sorry but if you play the game 1 hour per day in pug warbands you shouldn't get that gear.
And also that " If the gear become more easy to get, more players gonna play the game " argument is laughable.

My 2 cents is this.

When you look to live, the gear was basically free towards the end. The main progression there was the renwon ranks. This was a very linear and easy to see your progression.

Here the progression isnt renown, but gear. The gear gain is RNG. When people look at progression they just see RNG and don't want to deal with it. You can play a full night here and see so little progression.

Some people play for fun, some for Gear. Devs will struggle to keep both intrested.

Not everyone is homeless and unemployed students, personally me have work, family and other stuff to take care of. But hey, at least you have conq gear, i mean, who needs wife or children or work, when you can haz a CONQ gear!!!
