Works! Means the problem with the incorrect password is solved. I can login now without a VPN.

This has been an issue connecting from China for some time (i.e since oct), the only issue i have found using a vpn is the lag seems to increase two or three times over.
Have been using expressvpn, its pretty stable but its not free.

The Chinese been blocking access to outside IPs 
I wouldn't be surprised.
Yeah, there will be a vast increase in latency, as the path taken between player and server will be much farther.

So I'm having this problem, I try to connect to the server Martyr's Square which is the only that shows up, and it will say it's connecting to the right hand side and a moment later, will then tell me that it's timed out. Now I've already tried using the VPN, the free one that Elven Provided but I am still taking this same Error, I went straight to this topic, so perhaps there is already a fix and I bypassed it, because that's something I would do. But please let me know if I can actually play, big Warhammer fan.

Hi,
New user here and I seem to be having this issue. I have to reset my password every time I login otherwise I get time-outs. I have tried using the VPN provided in the link above but this was set to US (I am in the UK) only being the free version and this didn't work either.

Im getting a problem now too: Launcher starts normally, says server is up etc. Warhammer starts but fails to connect in any way. Normally there are some messages in the small textbox on the right like "Handshaking server" etc, but thats simply not showing up at all. it remains empty and i cannot get into the char screen ;/
