I kind of agree with you in that dodge and disrupt are way too high, but I am not sure that your idea would be the best way to fix that, since all a ranged dps would need to do is put pools / aoe behind you to guarantee hits, which could be annoying in certain situations.

But with dodge / disrupt doubled up in renown, plentiful on gear and jewelry, and widely available via skills like htl, and the turrets / daemons on engi / magus it is not hard to push 70-80%. With flame turret I hover above 80% with full stacks which is admittedly a bit silly.

I would really like to see the renown ability split into separate skills for dodge and disrupt, and then the renown costs of anything beyond rank 3 for all avoidance, parry, dodge, disrupt, and block, greatly increased so it is a major investment to cap them out.

On live this was not as much of an issue, namely because people just didn't have points to invest in these skills, everything with into trivial blows first.

i have excuse for high dodge. it's wind!
high disrupt? it's magic! sometimes it's magical wind
so high dodge/disrupt from rear is fine in fantasy world i guess
and there are undefendable attacks that completely negate all investments

XD if this is wind, this is not your doing.
I still don't know how someone can dodge an arrow from the back.
And dodging a bullet from engie? matrix mode.

Funny you'd compare a character in a fictional setting to another character in a different fictional setting. It's almost like they were created to do unbeliveable cool things like dodge bullets!

Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth...there is no spoon.

it's only better from when dodge work from the back, rkd are less a pain (tough still remain a pain..), if the engi/magus can reach absurd value nerf turret buff not dodge x se......
Also magus/BW have 1 tactic that allow their st stuff to bypass disrupt, engi have a debuff tactc (work also on aoe set up), the only one in the need here is sorc....(no self cleanse, no rkd, no heal debuff, no funnel power, no disrupt ignore....).

You are mistaken; it's not dodging bullets, it's the chance to miss due to decades of snorting alcohol fumes. Or eating "magic" mushrooms. Or warp exposure. Or being on fire. Or, er... being distracted by one's own appearance, I suppose.

I think dodge/disrupt works in a 360 degree radius since there is no chance to miss any shot. Compensating for the lack of aim required to fire off a ranged ability, dodge and disrupt are basically substitutes for having the luck of not getting hit.
