If you want to play a WH find yourself a friend to roam with. You'll die some, but have plenty of fun duo'ing too.

You'll definately learn more about mechanics and movement going in as a melee. I'd say it's about whether you want to jump into the cold water, or ease in first. If you play a destro melee pug, you might get shot up by ranged heavy order, if you play melee on order, you might run danger of running in all on your own!
SW is a very good choice either way. Generally it's best to roll what you enjoy playing.

Roll a tank.
a: it's fun
b: tanks are very useful
c: you live long enough to learn the game

If he is new and want to solo in ORVR while getting to know game & levelling then WL is much more forgiving there. Much more tools to survive and thrive roaming.Elemint wrote:If you really want to roll an MDPS, try a marauder. He's not exactly easy to play at full potential but he's far more forgiving than the rest and you don't have to deal with a buggy WL pet.
If he want to join guild early and always go with group then both are viable.

@OP
Mdps is hardest to thrive atm. Solo it can be very frustrating even if you know what you're doing, know game, have double pots, etc
So it all boils down to whether you like to be in such hard spot and/or whether you play only/mainly in group / small scale or not.

If you really are scared about viability, I may suggest you a 2h black ork. I have a lot of fun with it, good damage and high armor

Sword master is already taken though; there can only be one Chinese hero.

Chinesehero provides a valuable service, keeping healers on their toes for the inevitable "res pls" spam
Without him, they might get bored.

Well if you pick sword master, I am secretly in love with Wingz playstyle

Not to discredit him at all, wings rolls with a solid support team, any time I see him in the lake he's got focused healers and a shadow warrior assisting him. That level of play while not unattainable is going to be hard to mimic without friends on the same page as you, especially while trying to get a feel for the game again.
All in all you've got to start somewhere, just pick whatever you think plays the most fun otherwise you'll not bother logging in after getting stomped frequently.
