You can use a Knock down on him to prevent the whirlwind ability but it is very common for Keep lords to have already been hit by some form of crowd control (cc) from random players. Before using any form of crowd control you should first check if you are supposed to be tanking him and second you should check to see what immunity timers the Lord has.

There are 2 types of immunity timers in RoR. There is a green Shield and a green Chain Icon that appear on the Lord's health bur. The green shield is the timer for Knock Downs, the green chain is the immunity for knock backs.
Cool, but when I DPS sometimes no one else is even watching for the spin so I'll just look for the opportunity.. Just old habit from previous boss fights I remember. Time is so critical once he begin to spin..
Actually, I didn't think he had immunities. I thought that was reserved for players only?
thx

Updated the guide regarding changes, added a small section about supplies and the new siege weapon abilities / damage, accessing postern doors, keep ranks and the changes to door damage.

Thanks for the post, waiting for "key to defending a keep".
What is the best thing (organize and tools) to defend outer postern and inner postern, prevent inc from it.

I would say the best way to defend a keep, ultimately is in 2 parts.
1. Ideally, if possible you have a grp of players running the supplies, or at least capping the Battle field objectives. This provides opportunities for solo'ers or randoms to run the supplies if you don't have time and reduces the ammunition available to the opposing realm for their siege.

This helps because the defenders oil will survive longer if there are no enemy cannons to shoot it down, and the returning of the supplies heals the respective door.

2. Defending postern doors is as simple as having groups of players skirmishing in and out of the postern doors, there is little else you can do. Premade groups are perfect for this because they have the communication required to make quick time plays. It really is just a matter of players not twiddling their fingers at a keep defense and being active. Range and healers on walls to prevent issues of focus, unless the healers need line of sight, tanks and mdps do their thing. Clearly don't over extend, if there is too much pressure, have your tank punt back enemies and communicate this so the dps know who to focus.

Pretty sure they have immunity or they'd be knocked down permanently.

Anyone remember that time i held off half a warband for ten minutes while we waited for reinforcements?

Hmmm what about. If attackers are on bottom floor dont run in the middle of the room cause they pull lord down and all are permanent snared

good thing, it's ok with our situation now when keep still is the most important object in rvr, and need huge zerg to take it if it is defending.
strategy is good, guide is ok, BUT what to do if attackers get 4-5 times wipe coz half of ppl got dc, crash, lags
how we could plan anything if game in keep in unstable and ppl getting dc again and again
