If youre talking about HotDogs, then no. First of all its called "Bosna" and isnt comparable to the disgusting stuff they call Hotdog in america, and secondly its origin is in Salzburg, Austria! The more you know
PS: Since there is no such thing as a sandwich in the sense americans have, we dont have a definition for it. Similar stuff like a "schinken käse toast" for example, which is 2 pieces of toast filled with ham, cheese, buttered on top of it and then toasted is just called like above (which is just a translation of the actual ingredients).

I love hot dogs. Just the ones that dent my pocketbook more than a sausage should. I would classify them as a sandwich, but one that has it's own distinct name based on the meat within said sandwich. Similar to the way we shorten grilled cheese sandwich to simply, grilled cheese or a PB&J (peanut butter and jelly). But, I am also from the Midwest, so we don't call things hoagies. It may have a different bread but it's still a sandwich. I liken sandwich as being akin to Class in the Kingdom, Phyla, Class, Order, Genus , Species system.
