Making a sarcastic comment, logging off to do something else and coming back when the new mounts are no longer there is not a sense of entitlement. Nor is it toxic. Thought about going into the meaning of the word entitled.. but thought that would come across as ultra condescending, which is not my intent, so thought better of it.
I called you on your assertions that "most people" were actually chatting in game about them positively and pointed out that even if this was the case it would be a non sequitur to suggest that even if this was the case that this can be taken to imply no one other than myself didn't like the mounts.
If you think something in that response was toxic or insulting please point it out. It was nothing to do with the devs, merely that your statements were wrong.
To be honest from where i am sitting the toxic attitude is coming from the almost religious zeal some people are showing in response to people offering an opinion that they do not like something. Just as you are free to like something, i am free to dislike it. We dont have to agree but belittling all comments that are not in accordance with your own with words like entitlement or whining as is often done (or posting pictures of cheese ) is actually toxic.
The devs are free to do whatever they like with the game, they work on it for free, they spend their time and it is their baby, no-one on this thread disputes that. No-one suggests their time is not appreciated.
To suggest that this precludes people being able to say they do not like something is nonsense. I am pretty sure the devs are not precious enough to be offended by people not offering unstinting praise 24 hrs a day.
Most of the time that i am online i am in a guild filled with devs / gms.. if they think what i am saying is toxic or whining then they can let me know. So to be clear, first post was sarcastic and indicated i would be doing something else till squig mounts disappeared (it did say that i would never play again unless they changed it back etc) and second was solely in relation to your assertion.. nothing to do with the devs.

I respectfully suggest you enjoy your squig mount, chill out a little and stop seeing demons in posts where none exist.
Always hopeful of finding a DPS AM guild.. if anyone ever sees one, with low entrance standards, please let me know..
