I am not sure I agree with this. The drop rate on the medallions was extremely low anyways, so it was vastly more efficient to do WvW. Unfortunately if your play time coincides with a period where there is no WvW pretty much at all, scenarios were the only way to get them (drops and kill quest), even if slow.

I understand the intent, but I am just not sure it is having the desired effect.

For what it's worth, had some decent ORvR during NA prime time last night. More than I've seen before, at least. Medallion droprate still pretty low, though.

On a Saturday yea, certainly there's gonna be alot more action during weekends.

But rest of weekdays is another thing.

Fair enough, but of course, why then should gear earned in RvR be allowed to be used in Scenarios? Its not like you earned the competitive advantage in scenarios.

So what do the people complaining about lack of Open RvR during low population hours (which means the majority of the playerbase is unaffected, by the way) propose to make Open RvR more attractive for players during any time of the day instead of everyone just chainqueuing scenarios and ignoring literally every other part of the game? Restricting medallion drops is a step towards that goal (and it's not like you can't get armor and weapons both with emblems, which you have no way of getting in the lakes), but if that is such a huge a problem, what would be the alternative?
Here is another question: what if those 6-12 people on each sides who play the scenarios per realm, and the 5-8 more that likely queue but didn't get in, chose the lake instead? Then there would be lake RvR. Not a very large scale, sure, but it'd happen. But for some reason scenarios are more popular, to the point that SCs are a good option for RoR PvP even when allegedly nothing happens in the lakes. 2-300 people online even then, for 3 tiers that's 30-50 per tier in each realm on average. Scenarios are started fairly often, but nobody bothers with the lake. Why?

The fact of the matter is that sc crests are eaiser and faster to acquire than sc medallions making it realistically faster to acquire duelist sets and stuff faster than deva

And sets are broken up by playstyle it's kinda detrimental to one playstyle vs another


By the time I got 450 crests for full duelist on my choppa I had only enough for 2 peices of deva

Exactly what I'm talking about, I can't even get a decent heal set for my WP or DOK unless I get devastator.

The solution must surely be loot chests in keeps?

We have to factor in T4 Scenario's into this when that comes out too.. not only SC's below T4.

They need to bring back Loot chest for capture and Defense of Keeps, like we had on live. otherwise its good that they removed Medallions from SC, since Emblems didn`t drop in ORVR.
