There were some items in live that you could get for certain classes that would drastically change appearance like the BLORC shield appearance being able to be changed to another 1 hander so it looked like they were dual wielding. This work around would make it so anyone could virtually use anything so long as it did not have a restriction for their class. Such as a Marauder being able to run around with a 2h weapon as its appearance.
The main issue is that weapons and armors that are not suppose to be able to be used for appearances can be through a work around. Most items say can be used as an alternate appearance but there are a lot that do not say they can. However, through this loop hole you can still use them as your appearance.
Oh yes, I remember.boog wrote: You could on live and you can in RoR. People have been doing it since they got alternate appearance working.
Great!Azarael wrote:Notes are wrong. Appearance workaround still works - there are just additional checks on it.

A good thing, no more overpowered talis and potions, but what about those who already have level 40 talis on their high-level gear? They won't drop their gear before T4 is out, and new coming players won't have access to those talis anymore until level 40.Dana wrote: - Scavenge, looting and butchery are now capped by the rank cap. This means that gear above 35 and mats above 175 will no longer drop.
this! very important.ErfanW wrote:boog wrote: On live by the way players from the opposite faction would see your gear with the original skin to help them know how geared you are.

Not really. If you see an anemy player with lvl1 appearance, think "ah! lowbie, easy renown" and you get stomped over and over and over and over and over again, that is entirely your fault. After 1 (maybe 2) fights you should be able to notice if he is too much for you or not, regardless of how he looks like.Tiggo wrote:this! very important.ErfanW wrote:boog wrote: On live by the way players from the opposite faction would see your gear with the original skin to help them know how geared you are.
black guard misleading you into thinking he is a 2x1h dok IS a problem.Penril wrote:Not really.
