No problem here, it always seemed like a rather pointless stat; the "mirror" with dual wield makes a sort of sense, too and a dirty great hammer, sword or axe swinging for your face -should- be harder to parry than smaller, lighter weapons.
I'm not commenting on any classes that might receive a decent damage buff on this, that's another discussion as this makes more sense than what currently exists and anything that needs tweaking as a result can be looked at.

Re: Dual Wield and Greatweapon balance
Don't mess with 2H damage. A +X% damage buff would be an effective +X% damage buff for WLs, something they don't need (they do need other things, but NOT more damage).
Re: Dual Wield and Greatweapon balance
This seems to be another buff to 2h WP, will DW dok be getting any love?

And you gladly ignore that fact that DoK since ever had a 10% parry advantage over the WP? aye sirzabis wrote:This seems to be another buff to 2h WP, will DW dok be getting any love?

Wrong.noisestorm wrote:If you have a 1h with 3.0 speed and the same dps as a 2h with 3.0 , they will both do the same dmg right?
2h weapons have higher dps than their 1h counterparts. Dps is added in every melee dmg calculation which makes every skill stronger. Every single point of dps can be seen as 5 additional strength for skills and even 10 strength for autoattacks.

Dual Wielders dont have that problem, because their +10% parry is useful against all classes.
No.
So, let us see what this 10% parry strikethrough would mean.
A buff to WL. A class with the strongest melee burst potential on order side.
WL doesnt need a buff.
A buff to 2h slayer.
Not viable right now due to a missing tactic.
A buff to 2h IB.
Definitely doesnt need a buff.
A buff to 2h SM.
Nice dmg, nice utility, very tanky endgame. Doesnt need a buff.
A buff to 2h kobs.
Which can achieve stats every other class dreams of, no need to buff his dmg.
A buff to black guard.
Strongest 2h tank in the game, dmg wise. No buff needed. Making 2h more attractive wont make up for a kd loss.
A buff to black orc.
Strong on 2h already, most of the bo I see are 2h. The dmg is superior to every other tank and even bad mdps if the target doesnt detaunt. No need to buff them.
A buff to 2h choppa.
See slayer.
A buff to chosen.
The only way for mdps to avoid cs is parry for now. Cs is already very strong. Dont buff.
I fail to see why this buff is necessary. Especially now where cant even see the full effect.

Re: Dual Wield and Greatweapon balance
what the spoiler says, in a nutshell, fully agree with this guy where Destructions buffs dudesGenisaurus wrote:I tried to have a problem with this, but I couldn't think of one. Maybe that it directly counters the passive bonus of another weapon type, but that's not a big deal. I can't think of something else that it could do that wouldn't be stupidly OP for some classes.

Re: Dual Wield and Greatweapon balance
First off DW has the potential to do more spikes in damage with procs due to faster AA, and WL aside its all well and good what you said but how often will you run a 2h tank when their SnB counterparts are still far superior
The fact of the matter is that at the end of the day, 2h's shouldnt suffer with a useless bonus like block strike through

Re: Dual Wield and Greatweapon balance
And WP has things that DoK doesn't have as well... Are they that out of balance that DPS WP deserves a free aoe detaunt as well as +10% parry strikethrough?noisestorm wrote:And you gladly ignore that fact that DoK since ever had a 10% parry advantage over the WP? aye sirzabis wrote:This seems to be another buff to 2h WP, will DW dok be getting any love?
