I run this build but I'm using good with shield instead of you seez me block dat!.

Without good with shield.. the avoidance #'s are small. I still don't think shields are giving enough block from block rating but that's another matter. Regardless, using an epic shield...without GWS - you're sitting at 15% block... with 20 points spent in defender.

This is going to sound whiny - but man, pretty bummed about the t4 initial sets. That extra point means basically zippo to any new build diversity and compared to the t3 five piece bonuses...is just very underwhelming. A 10% chance to taunt the target or a 25% chance to buff 3 of the 4 avoidance categories by 10% is, imho, so much more powerful than this point in tree stuff.

Oh well - It looks like t4 gear will be necessary just because of the extra 700+ armor the set has. You'll need 3500 armor to really feel like you're full mitigation and achieving that on a t3 set, while doable, would mean going basically full deftard with your tali slots

If solo then yeah, i would run Good wif shield (then again, i would run a Brawler/Toughest spec). But in a premade i definitely prefer YSMBD; your mitigation is more than enough when you have healers around. And you can get to M3-4 really fast, which is always handy for saving your groupmates (Good wif shield won't save your Zealot if focused by 4-5 enemies, but Immaculate Defense will do it).

I don't disagree with your logic. but by that same token, I would think you'd want to run GWS and YSMBD together to increase your blocks and therefore increase your morale pump. If that truly is your goal.

15% block chance just seems super low.

I struggle with that. You run GS and SYG and which would really warrant a duelist 5% crit and maybe even some renown crit specced. But YSMBD is all about morale pump through blocks so that would lend to GWS and speccing defender.

Maybe I'll drop SYG and try GWS and YSMBD. I don't know.

By the way - loudmouth = garbage to you? It doesn't look like it crits so that makes it weaker..but I could see it possibly having value.

Where do you get 15% block?

I play BO with different pieces of gear in my bag as well as different set ups on Closet Goblin. That's why i like the spec i linked. It works for whatever i need to do. I find myself usually running these 3:

- SnB defensive: GWS, YSMBD, BB and Unstoppable Juggernaut. Defensive gear. I only play this way if i am solo tanking for a premade.
- SnB offensive (this is what i was thinking when i linked that spec): GS, SYG, YSMBD, BB. Offensive gear, good damage.
- 2H DPS: GS, SYG, BB and GaBC. I only use this if i am soloing and we lack DPS in a SC (but have several tanks/healers) or we lack DPS in our guild and I want to stay on the BO (else i would log a DPS).

I was a big fan of No Choppin Me! on live. But still need more points for that spec; i will certainly include it again in my spec once we get to rr60.

Renown points go like this: http://waronlinebuilder.org/#renown;000 ... 1000000000

I was also a big fan of Weaponskill on live. However, we still don't see crazy armor values on RoR (and i don't have many renown points to spend on WS). I will still toy around with it in the future.

You are correct: I don't crit all the time. Nor do i block all the time. But that's not my goal: I crit often and hard enough that my enemies notice it, and my groupmates definitely notice when i assist them. I block often enough that getting to M1 in 10 seconds is not rare (allowing me to Champ's challenge immediately). Best part is when i am focused and am forced to use my M2 Shield Wall: my morale fills up immediately allowing me to use Champ's Challenge or Distracting Bellow (or Deafening Bellow, which is my fav BO morale). :P

About Loudmouth: I used it all the time when soloing in the lakes on live (AAO, LM, GWS and SYG). That extra damage helped a lot in 1v1 (specially against Tanks). However there are better tactics for premade-play.

Speaking of 1v1, another gear-tactic setup i ran was built specially against SM's. If i saw one, I immediately swapped to that setup (replaced SYG with Don't Bother me none) and ran Da Greenest!, just to counter their double spirit debuffs. When fighting a SM, it wasn't rare to get to M3 and at this point you have to be super careful and watch if they use Bladeshield. If you hit them once or twice while they have that, you usually lose. Just kite them until it is over and then engage them again. Had a bazillion duels against Bladespawn and in the end (rr100) this was like the only way i could beat him. :) Unfortunately i was never able to test it on Cythereaz, and the few times i ran into him in RvR he kicked my butt. I always wondered if it would have worked on him 2 (those 2 are the best SM's i found on WAR).

Anyone know if the 10% dmg 5% parry tatic working properly for the BO?
The 5% parry is not adding to the parry stat % on my character sheet.

A tank can never compete with dps in damage even if goign full dps and using a 2 handed weapon.

if you want to go dps i sugest you do chose a dps class. unless you plan on mosly soly play and solo run scenarios and such.

if you want to go premades or more serious rvr then most groups would not want a 2 handed tank.
you can't guard and do stuff a tank is suposed to, not well anyway. and you wont be able to compete with a dps.

As you wont really funktion as a tank you would become a bad dpser insted. All other melee dps will do more damage and most would bring more usable stuff to the group, buffs and debuffs.
So why would they want to take a 2 handed tank as dps when they can get a real dps that can do the job better and bring more to the group?

And in scenarious you would probably be low priority for the healers if you are 2 handed. they would rather heal a real dps or a tank that guard and actually tank

Just something to think about. But as i said if you just wanna play around for fun or you have a guild or some friends who are willing to play around you and have you insted of a real dps go for it then :)
