I looked around and I've probably missed it. How often can you jump without a penalty? 1 jump per 2s? 1 jump per 3s?

Besides you dont need to jump to kite (like some people have claimed, which is 100% bs), and if you do for some reason need to jump in combat, like getting over an obstacle, you should only need to jump once or twice, so you wont get snared that much (plus whoever is chasing you gets snared too), so I dont see any problem with it.
Blunderbuss Blast you need to jump+turn+turn to use while kiting. This is just one example.

TK doesnt use that exploit. I know, because i fight him constantly and even had a 6v6 a week or 2 ago. And while it was difficult to catch him, it was mostly due to his tanks trying to keep me perma snared. If I managed to avoid that, i was able to get close to him.

Calling us exploiters just because we are against this change is silly. Not saying you called us exploiters directly, but "unless your playstyle revolves around this abuse..." kinda implies it. Anyway, let's test it and see how it goes. Hopefully it won't be as detrimental to kiting classes as i think it will be.

Overall, awesome patch.

You seem to be under the assumption that other options were not considered.

Simple fact is, jumping repeatedly got you away faster than just running along on a flat surface, this is fundamentally wrong. Unless your playstyle revolved around abusing this well known and discussed exploit, any detriment to your character is fractional.
Again I am not against a change to this problem. It's an exploit and I main a melee dps in NA prime. I am just stating that this change specifically will affect cloth healing and rdps. And push the meta further to 2-2-2 as previously stated. I have accepted that this change is put in place and I will adapt my "playstyle", using terrain to maintain distance from melee, on my RP accordingly. If it doesn't work as others have said, I'm sure it will be reverted or changed in some way.

Looks like I'm coming back to ganking. As far as the jumping change goes you'll just have to remind yourself not to jump.

What are the chances of a different fix being done for bunny hopping? I didn't even really know it was an issue except for ppl messaging me about it. I constantly jump, even out side of combat, in every mmo i play that has jumping. Am i just going to run around 20% slower all the time now?

Bunny hopping was always, for me, a way to warm up. To get into game pace. Ever saw a RTS player clicking rapidly around screen for no reason? Bunny hopping was always a similar routine/habit for me in WAR. It was a way to pace/rhythm the game considering every jump fall in nicely with every gcd. And I don't think I was the only one doing this. And there are also many gameplay/convenience reasons for jumping like already stated in this thread.

I just hope devs realize that by making bunny hopping detrimental it breaks years of habit and gameplay style of some players. I can understand a need for quick fix if there is an exploit - but I hope a better solution is looked into and this won't be forgotten like many other bandaid that already exist in game.

FPS players went through the same adjustment when the more modern FPSs came out. It will take some adjusting for sure
