The range is too far. Players using the terrain to sit where you cannot attack or detaunt them and then dominating large areas of the map. Open RvR or scenarios both give endless possibilites for this kind of tactic. You dont even need a healer because you just sit in plain sight, but out of reach of almost all other range damage.
Take back the range change plz. If they really need a buff which I am still not sure of, then leave the damage add but take back the extensive range.

Following the "awesome" tipps here in the forum to counter the range would mean not to leave the warcamp in some of the open RvR zones or sceanrios.
Sounds like the Mujahideen snipers =( You will need air support or a counter sniper.

Honestly, the full buff is almost never up since fights are constantly moving. There is nothing stopping you from avoiding the person or killing the pet...which immediately removes 4 stacks and a good chunk of the range and damage benefit.

While you killing the turret, engineer is killing you.

^ talking from solo perspective. Again - get friendly with healers and tanks, utilise detaunt and los, and engineer is - as it always has been - not a threat.

I don't even know why people are still talking about that.
I suggest all whiners here to check what Aza said about the buff.
Azarael wrote:The buff will be formalized in the next patch. At that point, if you wish to dispute it, you will have to go through the balance forum.
So deal with it.
Or just leave the game, you will not be missed.
If you can't handle evolution and change, go play CoD.

I dunno works for my magus. Play one..you will see that the changes aren't all that game breaking at all...It still feels almost the same as ever.

"Another technique is called "kiting" in which an enemy is snared or rooted, keeping it at a distance while hitting it with damaging spells and avoiding melee combat with it."
http://darkageofcamelot.com/content/beg ... bat-basics

The point is:
The class has neither a range snare, range root nor any other viable tool to kite enemies reliably around. Even the short knockback has a 1 second cast time which makes punting in a specific direction a game of luck. In the worst case you punt an enemy mDD into your healers...
Not having a tool doesn't mean you can't kite, it's just a tool after all you can have all the tools, you got some of them, so beat it. I big scale fights having a tool even less viable cause if you haven't some tool you buddy buddy zergonaut have it, helping you to kite. I like that hypocrisy declaring that war is about lage scale figths but refer that engi can't kite in small scale.
That's the problem. You say that the class can kite, while every other player who actually regularly plays the class, says otherwise. Especially if compared to other range DD classes. I'd really like to see how the tools the engi has will help him with kiting in real gameplay situations and how well he performs compared to other range DD classes.

And i don't know what you refer to; i neither "declared" anything about large scale, nor small scale fights. We have open RvR and scenarios in RoR and the only thing that will never be balanced is 1vs1.

As this thread was not posted in the balance subforum, i'll refrain from any further replies (simply because it's a waste of time).
