Having good survivability dosn't mean being able to stand in the middle of 3/4 angry destro and being able to free cast (thigs that actually an AM can do, if provided with guard, thanks to Walk Between Worlds). AM has plenty of survivability: double detaunt (ST ranged and AoE melee), 60% snare puddle, AoE punt, AP drain (extremely powerful in ST), highest absorb in game (1300 with 13pt in left tree), offensive stat drain, magical infusion and desperation.
These are a lot of tools, if you have a good positionig and a proper defensive build you have nothing less than any other healer, in the survivability department.

Obviously, but you also don't see WP having the same ST healing output of AM or having the same amout of out of party heal.
They have different role, it's enough to read the class description in the character creation window to understand it.
Healers, like DPS, can have different role event tho they share the same archetype (heal/tank/DPS)
A slayer can't do the job of a WH. Is the slayer bad? I don't think so. Slayer simply cover a different role

Shaman has FoDG tha can heal up to 24 ppl, has 1.2s cast time (most of the time) and can be casted on the move. Also spamming FoDG, you increase the heal mechanics which means that your AoE heal become 1.5s cast. And Shaman's AoE heal tooltip value is higher than DoK.
But point isn't this. DoK fill a different role. While Shaman heal out of party and deacrese pressure on the WHOLE frontline, DoK needs to spam AoE heal to keep HIS PARTY alive, but both role are important. They are both good healers, just for different reasons and in different roles.
