Bozzax wrote:There are basically 2 types of players that are rich in the current economy
1. Exploiters that cheated and created gold
2. Traders/farmers that farmed rare items and sold those to exploiters or other players in a duped economy

Either way these players has dirty money and anything that has been traded in this economy that has future value is dirty.

Anyone saying I've earned my money legit are missing the point since they are benefactors of the exploit. Intentionally or not doesn't really matter.

I'll simplify this lets say I have a friend that created money would my AH trade where he buys my Militia Cleava for 20 000 gold make the money legit. Answer is no and evidently any trade over AH has been affected directly or indirectly by prices going through the roof.

What woories me most is ...
If RoR get a reputation for being a place of gold exploits and duped economy it will fail. This game will rely on players recruiting other players and that will not work if this is not dealt with forcefully. If game fails what is the point?
This, so much this! If I could +1 a post millions, this'd be it!

Players come here to play WAR (that means play WAR as complex PvP, RvR and PvE game) and they are able to gain level 12 and equip themselves in GR/Decimator in a few days. GR gear costs few silver and Decimator sets/tokens are being given for free by many veteran players.
There is no real economy problem right now, even if few players on forums think so. I respect that you have different opinion. This game won't fail due to economy or gold, it will leak players if there are no real content updates - more zones, more scenarios, higher levels, more skills; and gameplay-related fixes like working parties, balanced scenarios, meaningful RvR.

It's like in "da real world", when the mafia (gold exploiters) takes their dirty money and invests it in a legal business (item seller on ah) to "wash it".
There is only one difference: i believe the "500 gold/piece" business owners in this game, when they say they doesn't know it was "dirty money". :D

@ page 8
79 chars that have over 1k gold
5 chars got more then 10k gold
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

Is that a problem? How?

Our Peter Pro playing 8 hours a day made how much? About 16 gold just by killing mobs and selling grey junk? Let's say he plays a month. That's about 500 gold. If he plays two months just by stupidly killing mobs, he joins the "Rich Elite" with 1k gold.

Two months. Killing dumb monsters with no good drops like rings or cloaks. He will do it again after wipe. Why should not he?

Very bold statement, dear sir. Care to provide any proofs?

I gotta speak up for the honest farmers here, since a lot of hate is directed towards them.
How the heck are they/we supposed to figure out, who it buys and how we can sell it only to people that make "honest" money?
Of course you want some reward for your hard work and getting not what you desired in return. So you sell and expect some income for it. So, what do you suggest?
If you have found a way to run a complete background-check before anything is sold, please speak up!
