Pug Sc queue
Re: Pug Sc queue
I don't think it's fair to be threatening players for duoing while in the same guild if premade scenarios aren't popping up. I had already warned you guys that duo's are not a good idea. It should be solo and anything other than that is organized play. I believe DoTA 2 considered duo queue to be solo queue for a while and ended up changing it to strictly solo queue.
Is this a shitpost? Let me know through personal message.

Re: Pug Sc queue
Duoing is fine. Specifically coordinating with 2 other duos, getting in a pug-only SC, immediately reforming group and effectively playing as a premade is not fine.Euan wrote:I don't think it's fair to be threatening players for duoing while in the same guild if premade scenarios aren't popping up. Don't worry, it is VERY easy to spot who is doing this.
Re: Pug Sc queue
OK, time to address a few things here.
First of all @simtex that is good to hear, this was the hope that you would face more premades and hopefully fulfil the desire for more equal and better fights between the premade community.
@luuca, you have shown your argument against this solo queue and went as far to make a troll thread, if you dare to abuse this system you will be punished. This goes to all that think they would like to form 3 sets of groups and then play as a 6 man in this queue, we did not work/wait this long for it to be ruined and exploited by such players.
To address those that love group play so much - The premade scene had their own dedicated scenario, they did not have to go through such lengths to receive it, and there was much feedback on it, where as the pug community has tried for so long to get a scenario that they can enjoy, something to kick back with after a long days work and not just get frustrated with the continued stomp of premades, with a lot of patience, and then a few polls, and then finally we have it, and I have to say the feedback I have received so far as been overwhelmingly positive, I doubt this scenario is going any time soon. - As a side note from what Simtex has said it seems this is a change that gets you what you wanted? More engaging and equal fights.
Finally towards all those wondering on the map rotation. Yes we can rotate the map and there are those maps more suited towards pug play, ideally with both fighting and objective play so we get a bit of both mixed in. So for example it could be a weekly or bi-weekly thing ( maybe even a monthly one ). I would like some opinions on whether you would like a poll to vote for what maps you would like to see in the pug rotation ( then we can just rotate a set amount of maps ) or whether you would like to just have a random one each week chosen by the team. - Either way I will be making a pug thread to inform people of the current scenario which is rotated in, so you are all kept up to date!
I hope that this has addressed some of the concerns/questions that you guys had, if you have any more I will answer best I can.

Re: Pug Sc queue
Do you intend to have more than one pug map in circulation at any given time, pending on community interest?
Aside: the reason why the premade community didn't have to go to lengths to get a prem vs prem-only scenario (nor should they have had to) was because these scenarios existed back on live, and go hand-in-hand with the notion that the game revolves around organised group play. The reason why you did have to (creating a poll, gauging enough interest - kudos, again, for using your initiative whereas others just talk) was because it does kind of go against the purported (at least originally) purpose of the game, but if people are happy that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Re: Pug Sc queue
1) The voted idea was to make this apply to all scenarios, so pugs would always face pugs, however given the success so far of one scenario, I think keeping it this way to further see how popular it is will be best, and again from what simtex has said it seems to have benefited other aspects.peterthepan3 wrote:1) Do you intend to have more than one pug map in circulation at any given time, pending on community interest?

2)We will agree to disagree

Re: Pug Sc queue
I personally would like a random map chosen by the team. It gives the whole thing a nice touch of surprise. I would find that rather exciting.adei wrote:OK, time to address a few things here.

Re: Pug Sc queue
Originally on Live, you couldn't even queue as a group, it was all solo queue and you could only queue for the pairing's scenario that you were in. So if you were in praag, you could only queue for Battle for Praag etc It changed within a couple of months tho.

Re: Pug Sc queue
Several games have a "Random map" option. I wonder if it is possible to have a pug-only SC with "random" feature. That would be awesome.

Re: Pug Sc queue
I treat this game as a sport. The amount of organization/coordination that some of these premades want to participate in I feel reach sport like levels.s3rv0 wrote: First of all this is not e-sport game, secondly not all specs are viable for premades and not everyone tries to be l33t.
A lot if not all the spec's are viable if you grow larger then 6 man. At the 6 man level not all spec's are viable, granted. At the 12 man level a lot of spec's become more viable.
So mini update from NA time destro side: For the first night of this change NA felt like business as usual. The que waits are long but that is normal. Monday nights are pretty active for NA usually.
Yesterday we had the pleasure of facing Train wreck and friends in praag that brought roughly a 12 man mixed and we also brought a 12 man of pure greenskinz. I assume they were all on comms. We had 10 out of 12 on comms. Still trying to flesh out a consistent 12 man. To me premade 12v12 man fights are epic and very dynamic. There is a lot that changes going from premade 6 man to premade 12 man. They wiped us 3 times we wiped them 2 times. It was a epic like 30-40 minutes. I hope fights like this become more normal and this can continue.
If last night is any measure then I'm hopeful for this change. I'm still worried what will happen as this change will mature's. We were able to fight our normal premade competition and had fun. I would hate too see all this work we put in to try to grow a community to a consistent 12 man dissolve because of no competition.
