Reading the meta is part of playing a competative game. That means that you should cover running into the meta in the comp itself, not respec on the spot to deal with it. This will also open up more meta as other groups will comp against your meta. Thats how moast of competative games play out. You're supose to switch tactics and in this game to change the tactics.Thats why they are called tactics. Not switching everything else like gear, renown and mastery aswell.

Telperien, I fail to see how removing the ability to re-spec at all times, anywhere, forces the same group comps/builds any more or less then it did before.

You are correct that it is an aspect of Roaming, SC's, and RvR. I disagree that it needs to be an at will option. Play, and if you keep fighting the same premade and losing, change it up before you que or roam again.

Edit: and what Road said.

Tesq wrote:1 thing, it seems now there is a problewm with

anni,ruin,merc when swapping 1 gear

they screw build if you have 1 skill spec on the last used point in that mastery; it was possible go around that with anywhere trainer (so just to spec point an NOT re-spec)

could not be possible allow anywhere trainer to spec point only instead not allowing both?

p.s NOTE THIS HAPPEN when swap weapons too, if weapons coulld be made an exeption at least to the soft reset of mastery points it woudl greatly improve things.
That's always been a problem on RoR, this is not new.

I've often considered removing the +1 set bonus and putting something else there.

What the devs are repeatedly trying to say its that anywheretrainer was an exploit that mythic never bothered to fix. If the overall culture or the meta of the game is based around an exploit, it's wrong and should be fixed, even if it's a significant loss of QoL or a blow to the way min-max people play the game.

Imagine if the counter strike meta was based around aimbots and wallhacking and you needed to use them in order to compete, would you guys be ok with the situation because you grew used to it?

Yes, it will change the meta and the way people play with their builds but change is a good thing sometimes. (Tzeentch approves!)

Completely agree, this is why I could never take these 6v6 guilds seriously

Can I confirm that by "campaign" the Dev's are referring to each particular zone? Or would "campaign" refer to each racial pairing? IE, as I understand it, if you Purchases for Reikland and Order locks, you would need to repurchase for Praag? Same costs for t2/3/4 correct?
Campaign is one open RvR pairing zone, so if you buy it in T3 High Pass it works for whole zone (High Pass and Talabecland), if you buy it in Praag, it works in Praag and is cleared when campaign goes Reikland or Chaos Wastes (you need to claim new keep / join guild effort in the next zone).

shaggyboomboom wrote: back to topic: with keep claiming, will it give bonuses only in that one zone the keep is claimed?
Yes, it works only in the zone you joined / claimed keep.

You can however join as many (up to 3 obviously) zones as you want.

But wont it force every rescpetful 6man groups to run same "balanced" specs and builds to be prepared for everything? Being able to respec before fight opens choices. Now that extra choices are gone.
Well, on the other hand, everyone playing same specs and builds on compepitive will show how good are players, not specs:)

I fail to see how preventing you from respeccing to better deal with your enemy (hint: this doesn't mean you will be guaranteed to win them; you'll just have better odds) has anything to do with opening more options/changing comps used in the meta. Example: you come up against a ranged group while spec'd into 0 disrupt/max parry, you get beaten, you respec at Altdorf, then you come up against a completely different comp which you are, yet again, not spec'd against, rinse-repeat. Sure, you could ask them for a fight in open - but chances are you won't be able to due to no xrealm chat/the amount of time it takes.

It's just so much simpler and covers more avenues if you are given the option to respec before the fight begins, if you choose to. If you don't wish to, you don't have to - that's the beauty of it.

It will be more hassle for pve IMO.

I think there will be less cheese now, and more focus on universal stats. Like reduced chance to be crit which is good for all setups.
And its not like range setups have been running rampant in Isha. This might actually encourage range setups to do Isha unlike before.

However, for the sake of argument. If Peter can't get his Isha trainer, the WB/keep-funnel guys should not get trainer in keep. Fair and square :D Only respec in Capital cities.
