There's always the T3/T2 150 killcount quest, completing both of those at the same time nets you 6 Soldier's Medals. The Medals currently ARE on a 20% droprate or so; this will eventually be changed to 30% drop chance in oRvR and 10% in Scenarios. You can also get 2 Medals from capturing a well-defended keep, which will also net you a few medals through killing.

Yeah that's all good and fine, but i'm talking about medal drop rates for killing players, Keep defense and Battlefield objective defense don't happen very often because the attacking side know that if they attack, the defenders will get free medals, so they just go to a different objective. In the past 2 days alone there's only been 1 instance where 2 large WB fought over a keep, apart from that nothing. So I want to know about the drop rate for killing normal players in ORVR or scenarios.

IMO it should be at keeps or objectives drop rate for medals for both attacker or defender should be 25%, killing a player in ORVR outside of the above objectives should be 15% and SC medals should be at 5% per kill (seeing as you get 2 emblems for loss and 6 for win atm whilst being low is an okay rate and 5% is enough to give you a balance of both). This encourages people to fight in ORVR with fair drop rates whilst making objectives worth fighting over, and also allowing scenarios to be worth while in the fact that they give you emblems and medals but medals are at a reduced rate.

TBH I understand this is an MMO and they predominantly rely upon grinding, but in most modern MMOs grinding is becoming a bad term in reference to the quality of an MMO, and I don't want to be grinding 2 weeks solid (4 hours a day, not saying I do just a rough calculation which is being VERY generous) to get my devastator gear. And in an MMO of which gear is important in specializing on how you want to play your class, not having the right gear is punished quite heavily when you face people who have spent 8 hours a day grinding their gear, then kicking your A** as you try to grind out yours.

Here is my expereince this week, I rolled a SH, Tuesday after work, and now he is Rank 29/RR 29. I have all my stalker gear, have one of SC weapons, and I have two piece devastators. Also this is the first toon that I had full Obliterator and Decimator in the appropriate tier. I never felt like it was a grind as I was actively PvPing (from lvl 1o onward). I also made 200 gold, which i used to outfit my self with good talismens and bought enough potions to last me a good long while. I have played the SH a total of 24 hours.
This is anecdotal, but take it how you want.

Then don't grind for 2 weeks. Have fun and enjoy the game for what it is, Medals will come incidentally. Stalker-gear and even Scenario weapons are really easy to acquire. Green Level 31 jewelry costs a couple gold and that's it. You're set. If you play in a 24 man warband all the time you won't really notice Devastator compared to Stalker. 3 days of orvr and you should be influence capped everywhere for some decent purple stuff. And then just have fun, really. If you dont enjoy playing it and see getting Devastator as a necessity then maybe you wont enjoy the game when you finally get it.
And saying that Devastator costs 200 is very misleading, considering that the helmet alone is 100 tokens. So how about 100 tokens and the purple Empire/Chaos Helmet? Really lessens "the grind" and the difference is negligible

That makes zero sense. Sure the Tokens are split by everyone, but you are also killing 24 times as much enemies. If you are rolling over solos with a warband you might consider splitting up, but don't expect to be rewarded for overpop-zerging

That's an ignorant comment, people find different things fun, I like having a goal I'm aiming towards and like to have decent progression, at the moment I'm putting hours of time in to get maybe 4 emblems and 1 medal a day, that's abysmal. And I'm not set, I'm playing a melee WP which means I need to get the best gear possible to survive for as long as I can in the field.

It's not that bad... Of course premades are annoying but we, order, have our own premades running scenes. And on some scenes even a pug can win against a premade by points.
Only 4 emblems seems really little. How much time do you usually play per day?
Also, if you're looking for premade you can always pm me. Though I will probably be running scenes less now, when I have 40rr and 600 emblems, but it's always fun to play sc or two with someone you know.

I don't understand how you only get 4 emblems after hours worth of playing when you get 6 emblems for winning one scenario.
