That is a lie, with the right group setup, a dps dok can be awesome, and it is hella fun to solo/duo with dps dok

Melee Doks are awesome for soloing and small scale fights in RvR. Just dont expect to be very useful in zerg vs. zerg (unless you have a tank and other healers backing you up).

A DPS DoK is a melee DPS with some strong healing capabilties, so you have to play it as such. That's probably the most important rule.

Try to run with some friends to heal you, tank for you, and help you kill your targets.

There are a couple of ways to play the spec. This fufills more of the mdps role with a heal debuff and strong damage output. It's very easy to apply heal debuffs to every enemy in sight, and keep them consistently slowed by 20%. You also have a lot of damage pressure with all the dots you stack.

This is a bit more solo friendly, with a ton of self healing and a bit better survivability, as well as some nice AP shutdown and comparable damage.

Your tactics are usually Divine Fury, Murderous Intent and Khaine's Blessing. With the Torture spec, you can run the heal debuff instead of Khaine's Blessing.

DoK gear is a little weird, you may end up with a lot of stats that aren't useful for DPS, like Willpower. Generally you want Strength and Wounds for a balanced build or Strength and Weapon Skill for a glass build.

Having a friend that armor debuffs for you goes a long way: Blackguard, Black Orc or Marauder.
