Cross realming is when you break the language barrier and give info to the other side. Or, you collaborate to usher in some type of benefit via cooperation with an enemy player.
The definition has been totally mutilated and it makes me sad. I would like to introduce the new terminology, "Dual realm players."
Thank you, enjoy & game responsibly

I was against having multiple toons prior to AAO, because well.. everyone just switched to the winning side. However, I think it's totally fine to have both Order/Destro toons now. That sexy ass bonus when you are the underdog <3

I'm thinking a better solution to realm lockouts would be to cap population at a certain ratio for each tier. So if it was 40:60 Order:Destro, just cap the population on the Destro side via server login queue.
That's right, forced xrealming for RvR balance.

wow... another thread for this? comon!
- in RoR you can't make a lockout to prevent X/Dual-realming, players will simply create a second account, lockout for IP also is bs cause you can just change it
- X/Dual-realming is not a bad thing, if you wanna play with AAO you can log to the side that is the underdog and get a ton of renown, if you like staring down doors you can do that too --> everyone is happy!
so you can't prevent it (only discourage by changing the RvR system) AND it is not a bad thing
ergo in our current system don't change it

Cross-realming = no. It is a game breaker. Anyone remember Star Wars Galaxies? When they implemented holocron drops and everyone started switching and grinding professions to unlock their Jedi slot it just destroyed the game. I don't see this as any different an issue.
There are certainly ways around "oh you can just create another account" such as tying a client instance ID (if such exists) to a mac address and to a specific account. Throw up other barriers like RIFT's coin lock and GW2's ip recognition. There's also things like "authorizing" a computer (e.g. like iTunes).
Something gotta be done to save the Waaagh!
