The "fix" for this is keep restarting the launcher until pressing Connect button will work.
It may take you 3 tries, 20 or 50, but it has worked for everyone given enough tries.

I just told you how. It might take 20, 30 or 40 launcher restarts, but it will work.

Ok, it worked after 6-7 attempts.
