They are everywhere in SCs since rework, so you must not be doing many SCs if you never see them. Are there any aSW players out there that think aSW rework was good ? It wasnt a popular spec before the reword and its not popular after, I never see aSW's in scs

Nicely put!Orontes wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 9:59 am The SW rework comes off as a hostile act.
The Skirmish line (that is supposed to be AOE in orientation) has been turned into a variant of Squig Quick Shootin mastery (mid-range single target), minus a pet that has no range restrictions, and no AP drain costs. The range restrictions and gutting of AOE means Skirmish SWs are basically food for Destro as the 65ft or 80ft range modeling means being in range of all Destro with range options, all the time. The Skirmish SW population has collapsed. It simply isn't competitive. This is a rework failure.
The Scout line (which seems where SWs that remain and were Skirmish before have shifted to) is designed around a backloaded Fester Arrow that is so long and weak no Scout SWs seem to use it at all. They simply spam Eagle Eye and Fell the Weak where appropriate. This is a rework failure.
The Assault line remains a fetish mastery. Of the very few aSWs that exist I think some like some of the changes, and dislike others. The reality however is aSWs have no integration with WBs. This means they are on the periphery of RvR and remain a solo, small-scale irrelevancy that is inferior to other mDPS. A mastery that is irrelevant is a rework failure.
Players vote with what they play. Have SW numbers increased or decreased post patch? Do we see large numbers of players talking about how great or exciting the rework SW is? The answers are damning of the SW rework Team. It is obvious none played SW as a main. It is rework by spreadsheet with no understanding of the class informed by a basic apathy toward their product and toward SW players themselves. It is shameful work.
Re: [SW] Festering arrow
As a RR85 SW main I love the assault rework. Then again, I solo roamed aSW for the last year or so anyways.agemennon675 wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 7:51 am Are there any aSW players out there that think aSW rework was good ? Re: [SW] Festering arrow
I'm not sure what "i enjoy it" means. What is the 'it'? You are saying you enjoy the totality of the SW rework? You think Skirmish, Scout, and Assault masteries are all better now than before? If that is right, then you are in a severe minority. The only defenders of the rework I have seen have been a couple aSW fetishists and they demonstrate the larger critique on the aSW rework. Assault remains on the periphery.FeelFreeToDie wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 10:20 amI'm here and i enjoy it :> There is alot of aSWs at SC right after patch, but now numbers is lower because people start to figure out how to properly playing reworked range specs :>agemennon675 wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 7:51 amAre there any aSW players out there that think aSW rework was good ? Because people deciding the what is balanced and what is not were mostly at recieving end or didn't care?
Just look at the patch notes. It's quite obvious that aSW was the main direction of the rework. Still, it's better than WL rework where there were no WL responsible at all. At least, i can't imagine an actual WL player who could say that WL's pet is fine and there is no need to do anything. Unless you are WB WL AoE bot, of course.
Re: [SW] Festering arrow
The view is the aSW is now common in scenarios and that indicates success? Do you see these same hordes of aSW flooding the RvR areas? Do you see Region Chat flowing with praise or fear of and for aSW? Do you see multiple threads in the Forums praising the grandeur of the aSW as a pinnacle of mDPS?Kylashandra wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 11:02 amThey are everywhere in SCs since rework, so you must not be doing many SCs if you never see them. Are there any aSW players out there that think aSW rework was good ? Re: [SW] Festering arrow
You are an example of the earlier comment on aSW fetishists. If the aSW post rework remains a peripheral irrelevancy that is a rework failure.rorswar wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 2:12 pmAs a RR85 SW main I love the assault rework. Agemennon ask about aSW - i give him answer about aSW. I enjoying it in soloroam, i enjoying it at SC. i'm not playing range builds at all, but i know people who actually playing the game and find their ways to play new SW at any build and call it "good" :> I'm not calling their names without a permission, but i can say its old and experienced players that can be trusted.Orontes wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 3:52 pmI'm not sure what "i enjoy it" means. You are another aSW that demonstrates the earlier point.FeelFreeToDie wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 4:18 pmAgemennon ask about aSW - i give him answer about aSW. This comment "i know people who actually playing the game and find their ways to play new SW at any build and call it "good"" is fascinating. Based on it, the rework is irrelevant as all SW builds are good, if one is old and experienced. Let's assume that is the case. The rework is a non-factor. Being old and experienced trumps everything else. OK. What percent of SWs fit these two criteria? Is it healthy for a class to base judgement on that standard? Would these same old and experienced folk fare as well minus their BIS status? Could they reroll and be terrors on the field from T1 forward simple becuase they are old and experienced? The answer is obvious.
I have a rr 87 SW in BIS. I don't use myself as the model for discussing SWs. To do so is a composition fallacy (taking a part for the whole). Class analysis should be based on general stats and general population.

Yes. My issue with that is....50 ap.... it's 50 frikkin apJildaz wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 10:17 pm Drop Accelerated delay imo, its not worth it as FA is not the main dmg anymore.
You better spam eagle eye when need Asap damage.
Also bring back 100ft broadhead for Gods sake. Everyone and their granny has 100ft dots better than sw - all dot healers/ magus/ engi etc so why not the squishiest ranged class ingame
Re: [SW] Festering arrow
Yep, 50 AP. And rework did nothing with this.salazarn wrote: Sun Aug 23, 2026 6:52 pmYes. My issue with that is....50 ap.... it's 50 frikkin apJildaz wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 10:17 pm Drop Accelerated delay imo, its not worth it as FA is not the main dmg anymore.

Broadhead arrow isn't that important. Shadow sting is.
Btw, squishiest class in the game, since even sorc/bw are now officially tougher than you since they have no need to waste their stats on ws or kill their own toughness. And you are more or less in the same armor class now (~0 armor). All while SH enjoys his wounds+healing ability and wounds from squig armor while retaining his CC arsenal.
Unfair? No, it's called balance.
