They are watered down SH where everything is worse. No kaboom, no easy run away without tactic, no squig beast, no free armor in squig armor / assault stance, bad AOE compared to mSH, no 3k armor in melee like mSHs do, overall just worse. They should have at least better single target damage without all that tools but they don't have that either.

Shadow warrior need 100ft restored to broadhead and spiral arrow.

The bug on gapcloser causing target drop needs fixing and the dodgy tooltip for eyeshot while you are at it.

Then we atleast move forward and see how we like the class.

The range changes on ST skirmish make NO SENSE. If you want parity between SH and SW, then give SW a pet that doubles our wpnskill and ballistic skill scaling. Because vengeance of nag is nowhere near as good as a pet.

Regardless of everything else in this thread..... the opening post was very cool. 10/10.

ST Skirmish SW did not need a nerf, or at least not such a heavy handed one, but got hit as a side effect of the AOE nerf.

Festerbomb Scout could be toxic in the right hands, but the 10s delayed weird version of Word of Pain just doesn’t cut it. You set up your FA, try to max your multipliers, and more often then not the target is out of range, dodges, LoS you or is already dead, and there goes your rotation.

Assault was already viable, but now got better. People just latch onto the 2x armour nerf and don’t look what else they got. I’ve been absolutely ripping up people in scenarios but, like other melee, you do need a guard.

What is odd is why Magus got buffed, and why SH got off with a light slap on the wrist, if SW was so egregious.

In general, I would say the meta got too ranged heavy and that is very apparent in scenarios, and even more so in T1 which is often a precursor of meta shifts.

If you can spam damage at 100ft, damage should be less as there is less risk. That was the rationale for some of the nerfs of SW, but that logic clearly doesn’t apply to other ranged classes, which is bizarre at least.

Exactly; someone was really frustrated with the SW lately and decided to nerf it into oblivion. Meanwhile, Magus, Sorc, Engineer, and BW have ft well over 100 and are blowing up everything they attack... I can't be the only one who sees how things work around here.
Doesn't the first branch of the tree of SW has a skill on a 5s CD that reduces the range by 25% for 2-3s.

You can force 1 enemy at 75% of their range for most of the game. Though I would really suggest trying to get closer to them.

Melee rolls over those isolated targets far in the back, like WH who also conveniently gets a 100% magic resist / disrupt for 7s, silence, and all.

WH is busted in the age of the Magus.

Put "select closest target" on middle mouse button. I did this and I can retarget instantly.

Though I do agree the bug should be fixed - just giving a tip on how to work around the bug.

Problem with armor nerf was that it holistically affected the whole class, if you look at it only through the lens of Assault you're missing the complete picture.

Some nerfs where needed but the change to Assault stance was a poor balance choice. Should never had lost the armor, at least they could give some back like 50%.

Oh, I totally agree with you.

2x armour wasn’t just for Assault spec.

When I played Scouy or Skirmish, I always switched to Assault when I was under pressure to take advantage of the defensive boost.

Removal of 2x armour didn’t just hurt Assault players, it hurt the class as a whole, and made it in general more squishy. Assault can somewhat compensate for it with other defensive tools they have, but Scout / Skirmish can’t as they got none.

Yes also lost the disarm in assault, sometimes the only form of defense vs a melee foe ( especially if K/D gets dodged).

Gained a short aoe detaunt in assault (worst possible detaunt by comparison). rdps SW is a real lamentation.

The changes (nerfs) to Festering arrow and Broadhead arrow were needed. Ranged SW was too strong before the patch.
Assault SW feels pretty strong right now, especially in SCs.

On the other hand, Engi and Magus - they both deserved some boost, but now I think it is too much. In every open field scenarios, the ranged characters dominates, with the exceptions of Gates of Ekrund and similar inner designs, where you can hide out of LOS.
