Yeah, agree. Engi would need 6 tactic slots for thunderer and weaponskill/ballistic to be on par with the Magus and then there is also the stronger synergy between Magus and Sorc.Farrul wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 10:39 am I was testing it and SH on the PTR yesterday, and the names for some of the Magus characters present were quite telling. Imba, Overpower, Dontnerf. A saw a few more with those themed names throughout the day.
Players quickly realize what can and will be( too) strong, question is will the devs before this goes live?
I've said it before and i will say so again, Magus did NOT need any direct singletarget DPS increasing buffs, it was always powerful. Only aoe related and quality of life improvements to mechanics.
Problem is devs did the Mirror thing again, Magus = Engineer without realizing that the Magus has much stronger itemization due to not needing Weapon skill and tactics that increase % armor penetration occupying tactic slots.

How many SC's or rvr action happened since PTS is open so we can gather real feedback and not people hitting something that don't fight, we can agree that currently 90% of the player on ror like to kill door and hit a defenseless lord but game is pvp where you will be countered.Farrul wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 10:39 am I was testing it and SH on the PTR yesterday, and the names for some of the Magus characters present were quite telling. Queue for sc, make party/warband so we can actually get a better feedback than just 'i killed a dummy faster than X'
All class/spec are viable as long as you dedicate your time to making it work.

Re: [PTS] Magus a bit extreme
This is what I was wondering also, being able to coordinate SCs or some rvr would be a much better test than just 1v1 or constructs.siglade wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 2:29 pmHow many SC's or rvr action happened since PTS is open so we can gather real feedback and not people hitting something that don't fight, we can agree that currently 90% of the player on ror like to kill door and hit a defenseless lord but game is pvp where you will be countered.Farrul wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 10:39 am I was testing it and SH on the PTR yesterday, and the names for some of the Magus characters present were quite telling. Re: [PTS] Magus a bit extreme
I keep reading the dps of this build, has anyone fought a magus running this glass cannon build other than the construct?
Re: [PTS] Magus a bit extreme
Magus always had strong singletarget DPS, with Surging power and this rotation its just going to delete people when handled by competent hands.buerdig wrote: Sun Jul 26, 2026 9:22 pm I keep reading the dps of this build, has anyone fought a magus running this glass cannon build other than the construct?
Check it out( it will be stronger now). Even lower wounds glass Magus can dominate because it has great CC to get away and kite, and strong def buffs like Aegis of orange flames.
