Who's the strongest DPS tank class?

Pretty sure the question was a general question. There was no if we dont include aoe. AOE is a huge part of SC's so duh.. yea aoe ppl are gonna be top. Dont discredit them because they are doing what they should be.

Slayers and choppas aoe is not that strong atm (just an aoe exhaust and weak-ish bleed) slayers don't get strong till the get ID and then even more so with Id + rampage

Chosen is easly the best tank, dps or tank role.

order KOBS and its auras and cc, but the chosen has all this.
SM and its magical damage that it self debuffs, but chosen has this.

even has that little take damage while you move bit.

If you have good gear every Tank can do good dps. On livetime i think BO was best dps tank on Destruction side. On Order side i would say SM.

2h full off tanks are 100% useless.. your dmg is worse than the dmg of any real mdps class while your defense is even worse due to the lack of detaunt, anti root/snare (dont argue with moloch! it does only remove active snares but wont grand you immunity) and probably a charge to get rid off FF.

no offense but just look what ppl like jakob or kanzen are doing in scs.. they keep dieing in a split second while they are unable to get any dmg off.

another thing i wanna mention is that sc dmg stats are totally meaningless. look at all these aoe spamming engis, bw and slayer. unable to kill jackshit but always the most dmg dealt.

2H chosen is the most solid DPS tank, because their main spam is spirit damage so they can for the most part neglect weapon skill. They also have a kit nice for increasing parry, which is going to be your only source of guard damage mitigation. SM fits into this category as well, but they just don't have the group buffs/utility that the chosen has.

You don't play a "dps" tank and not guard something, the whole archetype is built around that. It would be like playing a DPS WP/AM and not healing on the side when you can.

And its a bit more of a tailormade spec, like bretin said a lot of "DPS" tanks just run around and get buttslammed, because they end up being squishier than actual MDPS, and don't have the tool to deal with CC.

I would only play a tank as 2H if you were always playing in a guild group, and had good healers that can keep you up, and where that little bit of extra damage will actually do something in the grand scheme of things.

Look at the screenshot, from previous page. Chosen did double damage than Mara, but Mara have easily most kills, simply because he does real single target DPS.

The only tank I can think of who can pose threat similar to MDPS is IB. But he'd be really squishy and would die too easily.

Irrelevant to what the op asked. Look, OP if you have a brain, listen to Jaycub he knows exactly what he is talking about. At t4 chosen is the best dps tank on destro side, it has a fantastic tree for 2h. As well as having Ravage, which is it's spamable SPIRIT dmg ability. It can neglect weapon skill completely and just worry about str, as well as not having to worry about the amount of armor someone has.

not really ib has grumble and mutter ive seen 2h ibs be able to fight 2-3 people in a row on live cause of that ability

even if u cannot spec for THC, u can still do nice dmg if u attack squishies - WS buff + armor debuff on yer own

you can run with around 22% or so crit chance for best plan + 15% or so enemy chance to be crit (37% for your best plan +25% crit dmg) so you can provide some assist burst while still providing guard and be tough to kill thanks to tough+armor buff and s/b

chosen spamming ravage is nice but vs. squishies I bet BO is more dangerous and harder to outheal when they assist their dps
