Personally I only play tank and healer, because you're all ingrates; so I do not know.

Let's cheat and say old WS stacking Asw with brutal assault, and whatever else.

Purely by 'feel' it must be Magus or SH.

Had a Magus burst down my relatively tanky Engi, 2 heal pots and an absorb pot in like 7 seconds the other day. God i hope engi dps is made on par with the next patch.

What is "old WS stacking Asw" ? Has the last change to WS affected damage output (I know that it affected parry) ?

Likely referring to the times when wrist Slash stacked with tri 4pc bonus giving asw's 1k+ ws

For 3 sec category I'd give my vote to a 2h BO attacking a cloth wearer (BO with all build up abilities used, inclusive of armor debuff), easily ~8k or slightly more within that 3 sec window (if everything crits ofc), the GCD-triggering abilities would be: a)Chop fasta; b)Shut yer face (with tactic); c)Stance-swap+KD; d)Out-of-gcd 2 white AA hits.

Yup Shut yer face alone may crit for around 3k vs cloth xD

P.S: In fact if all 5 attacks (3 abilities + 2 AA) crit during that 3 sec window - thats potentially around 10k dmg lol

There are few different definitions of burst.

1) Timestamp burst: where you have everything hit at once after a little setup. BW/Sorc/Magus/AM/Sham/WH (BAL) are examples of these.

2) Execution burst: health gets to a certain % and the damage gets crazy (SW, WL, SH, DoK, Mara).

3) Front loaded burst: The first 3 seconds. WL, WH, WE

4) Backloaded burst: After 7-8 seconds. Slayer, Choppa, (any dot class).

White lion is the best burst class because it has Front Loaded and Execution Burst. You have many more opportunities to engage someone (leap) who will be at less than 50% health for your Execution burst to kick in.

Sorc/BW hands down followed by WL (not that great as it was on live tho). Than I would say Magus/WH?

Anyway I was surprised of verry descent burst of my DPS shamman in prebis. One of my the fastest kill time on dummy (12,7s) with 4k - 1s burst and almost 7k - 3s burst.

A bw / sorc ONLY burst like that on a target dummy or a solo non geared nuub
