On the other hand some structured pvp would really help for long term motivation.
Ranked solo has been in development for the last five years. It was released June 20th and allegedly has been "refined" over time. But from what I understand it's created a sloppy metric to which the powers that be like to use it for balancing classes and making changes.

I'm sorry but I feel as though ranked has only complicated things within the game, especially when it comes to balance. And to nobody's surprise it hasn't gotten much better since release (ranked system). New UIs and interfaces sure, great. But now we're making game balancing changes for a scenario system that maybe 24-50 people play concurrently at peak after a big update or season introduction.

It feels a bit ironic, being a solo player and roamer advocate for so long, ultimately being ignored for class feedback, discluded from rank prior to the "every tank gets a super punt" era. But these communities are now influential in spear heading changes for class archetypes (Black orc changes, punt changes, shield DoK and WP changes). Come on.

I've been told so many times "games not a solo game, kick rocks", but then I see ranked solo getting updates and class changes as a result because ranked influencers have more "informed opinions".

TLDR; as someone who has played in return of reckoning for six years I've only seen it cause issues and usher in more problems than it was ever worth. And dont get me started on the use of nerfed buttons within these communities also the PR disaster that is the ranked discord.

As a SC/small scale enthusiast, I was initially hyped by Ranked being implemented to the game. But it really quickly turnt into a very closed club with a toxic behaviour towards anyone willing to join without being part of the discord (which btw required a ridiculous phone verification).

Lol. Lmao even.

Why would pros play against each other in equal environment when they can xrealm to a side, storm a zone, block the keep and them just farm those who bother defending.
Or form a group and sit in a corner of a map, waiting for someone to pass by.
Or form a warband and do the same thing.

You would think they want challenge but they want kills, fast and easy. Thats why you see stealth chars grouping and ambushing soloers. Scumiest thing i saw was a group trying to fish out afk players from war camp with mara pull. It was pathetic. But, thats the playerbase here.
