Hi Fontaami,
Thank you too to reply. I like this type of discussion
Can I know why there's no need to even use the Parry and Disrupt tactic as an SNB Black Guard with 7 or 8 Sov and a +2 mid-tree Master bonus? I'm curious.
Terrifying Foe: I understand your point—it's a valid one. Thank you for changing my mind on that issue.
Dark Blessings: Perhaps my initial post wasn't clear. I'm not considering every tank tactic because it doesn't make sense; since you can only use four tactics at the same time, I've chosen the four best defensive ones for each tank. In my opinion, Dark Blessings is not one of them.

So if I understand correctly, the ability changes the resistances (which are normally around 40% for elemental, spiritual, and corporeal) and then adds an additional 25%? If that's true, it's much better than I expected. Thank you for seriously sharing this post with me. I really appreciate it. However, when I read this: https://war-abilityviewer.dalen.io/ability/9358 , I realized that I didn't understand it at all. Is it normal for it to be that hard to understand, or is it just me?

@Hakker
Black orcs toughness buff is on aoe skill and doesn't need a target. It also reduces magic dmg to 80% and has no cooldown.
I would also point morale gain on block.
Hello, I've corrected the error. Thank you

Overall health, defensive stats, and specific defensive abilities contribute to a tank's ability to "keep" enemies off allies and "defensive stats" refer to attributes that increase a tank's ability to withstand damage. apna Khata

It takes magic/int abilities (AM,BW,RP) and set their damager modifier to 75% (e.g. 25% less damage), this multiplies with the 40% from resistance so 0.75x0.6=0.45 (so 15% effectively).
It's still thrash, you'd need atleast 60% of total (and dangerous) damage from magic for it to break even and pretty much 100% for it to be worth a slot.
It's a 1v1 tactic against casters or when you take significantly more damage than you get heals (which normally just means you are dead).
Maybe 6v6 against 2 magic DPS if you don't have disrupt tactic and expect to be focused with heal debuffs, happens a lot? Nah.

I'd put KOTBS at the top because of the -50% incoming damage ability, just enough to survive the duration of a typical push, and extremely high disrupt, allowing KOTBS to ignore most of magic **** flying around. I'm surprised KOTBS is so low in the list.

The Knight of the Blazing Sun is the best group buffing tank. In ORVR (outside of keep and fortress battles), he's the best tank overall because tanks generally receive less focus compared to other classes. However, in keep defense and offense, he’s among the worst. His Vigilance ability alone doesn’t justify his tankiness—it’s simply a good panic button, nothing more.
Would you like to discuss his other abilities besides Vigilance?
Shield Rush: With full Sovereign gear, this ability is useless because it provides 0% block.
Coordination Tactic: Again, on full Sovereign gear, this only grants you 10% parry.
Focused Mending: This gives +15% healing, which is great, but other tanks generally have similar bonuses.
Perseverance: It’s a good AP regeneration ability, but it only provides an armor buff that lasts 10 seconds on a 30-second cooldown.
Gilded Shield: This offers 15% disrupt. It’s not bad, but it isn’t outstanding either.
So, if you have two tanks in your group, you’d ideally place your Ironbreaker or Swordmaster in the frontline, and the Knight of the Blazing Sun further back so he can share his buffs with the other players.

IBs should be nerfed. No other tank can just freely go in and out in keep sieges.
Warbands doesn't even stop to kill them, it's just waste of time.
You should stop talking about what you know so very little about. Got to play IB like a piano to get the best out of it and it doesn't come with 3 groupsbuffs for free either.
