Re: BO

Some really great advice in this thread.

To echo what others have said, SnB BO is a great tank with great defense and utility. Most importantly, it's fun to play, with a range of strong buffs and debuffs useful in both warband and small-scale content.

A little tip for guard swapping. If you're using the enemy addon (which you should be), watch out for your teammates getting heal debuffed on their unit frame, which will show as a small broken heart icon. Most dps will start their burst rotations with a heal debuff, so as soon as you see the icon, quickly swap to that target if the situation allows for it. Do this even if your guard target's health hasn't taken much of a hit yet, as you can blunt the enemy's burst before they can put much pressure on. This takes pressure off your healers and forces the enemy to switch targets to find another unguarded target. If you see that your guard target isn't under much pressure, you can always swap back.

The enemy addon also allows you to set up click-casting. This will allow you to swap guard targets by double-clicking the group icon, which is a good way of doing quick guard swaps.

This is the warband build I would aim for as you make your way to level 40:
RoR.builders - Black Orc

First, make your way up to Rock 'Ard in Da Boss tree, grabbing less stabbin me on the way. Rock 'Ard is vital for RvR as it allows you to move through no plan without a target. Once you have that, move up to We'z Bigger, grabbing the other listed abilities on the way. We'z bigger+lincraka combo is our class-defining combo and is the main reason we are wanted in warbands. Tactics for any SnB build are always going to start with +10% block and morale pump, Lincraka is a must as mentioned, and the 4th tactic slot is free to your preference. I personally like less stabbin me for the extra defense.

Past 40, make your way back up Da Boss tree to Down Ya Go. Knockdowns are a very important ability to have, but you can make do without one in RvR, and the above build gives you more stuff to play with as you level (fun>efficiency while levelling). You'll want to go up to the knockdown first if you're doing small-scale like scenarios though.

Thats a good build posted by Bigun and will serve you well.

I personally wouldn't bother with the parry tactic, however it has been a long time since I leveled up my BO so it may work well in the leveling process. At endgame, i don't bother with parry at all. All of your SnB gear is focused on block, so you can only get parry from renown and tactics. I don't think it's worth it. When I ditched my parry, I didn't notice any drop in survivability at all.

I prefer to run with Toughness, Block Chance, Morale on Block, and Linecracka tactics. The toughness tactic is debatable, but i find it helps a decent amount.

On morale, I prefer the M2 "raze" rather than the block chance one. As SnB, your damage sucks, so I like having a damaging M2 to help with pressure. For survivability, i prefer to wait for M3 or M4 - any if you're using morale on block tactic, you'll get to M3 very quickly anyway.

Previously I would agree with you, but with the change to strikethrough not reducing defense by more than 50% it's a really good second layer of defense for SnB now. Tactic + renown and gear gives around 40% base parry, combine that with best plan and sov proc that's a tasty 60% parry. So with sov proc up, BiS gives 70% block and 60% parry. Hold the line at the same time, and good luck to the enemy (or guard damage) getting through that!

For weapons, I'd just go with the renown weapons that focus on defensive stats. If you're spending most of your time in SCs or RvR then you'll easily have the crests to afford them and they'll help keep you as tanky as possible.

When you get into your 30s, there are other options. There are epic quests (level 35 or 36?) in each pairing that offer a nice selection. You can get yourself a 1h, shield and 2h if u do all three. There are guides for these on the wiki.

Then there are the subjugator weapons. These are level 36 and can be bought using genesis crests (which u get from zone lock bags, as well as 2 from weekend scs). These weapons are required to get the fortress weapons, but they're also pretty good themselves anyway.

Just as an aside, I would highly recommend trying out 2h BO at some point whilst leveling. Maybe at 35 get the 2h set and spend your last few levels in SCs as 2h BO. Its a lot of fun to play and I think its important to make sure you try learning all aspects of your class. SnB in warbands is excellent, but 2h is a lot of fun solo or small scale roaming.

Hello, I am mokong who plays BO, First of all, I apologize for any inconvenience caused by using a translator.

I will explain my playstyle in SNB BO. I will list the most important skills in order of priority.

@challenge - Always use it during battle
@git out! and fly gits! - Punts can be used for a variety of purposes depending on experience, so they are excluded from this article.

1. Use guards and continually protect allies who are being guarded.
※ It is advisable to carefully monitor enemy forces and change guards before being attacked.
2. Please keep maintain trip 'em up.
※ This skill has no cooldown and is a great help to your allies.
3. follow 'me lead - Strengthen weapon skill
4. wot armor - Defense decrease
5. tuffe 'n nails - Always keep friendly MDPS
6. Savin' me hide - This buff skill allows BW to reduce aoe magical damage when casting skills.
7. taunt
※ Most tanks use this skill for offensive purposes, but it can block enemy channeling skills, so you need to watch the movements of BW, Slayer, and WL carefully and use it appropriately.
8. can't hit me!
※ When you're getting a lot of attention and taking a lot of damage, when you're blocking a gate while defending a fort, when your team's DPS is taking a lot of damage and need a single target heal.
9. hold the line!
※ This skill can protect both party members and combatants, and is great to use when you have health remaining or are moving.
10. we'z bigger
※ This is a very effective skill when used with tactics, increasing the CC immunity and movement speed of allies. It should be used appropriately according to the battlefield situation.
※ When used with a full set of Tank Soft, it will give your allies a lot of freedom of movement.
11. get 'em
※ It is good to use when your ally's AP reaches 60% using AP regeneration technology.
12. down ya go
※ Similar to the tank's Juggernaut skill, it is effective when used when the opponent uses a skill that frees their feet.

★ In WB vs WB battles, I think it's better to use buff and debuff skills 1-6 in the opposite order.

As you continue to play BO, you will become comfortable using the skills listed above, After that, we have to play the role of a tank on the battlefield, always looking around and protecting our allies when the enemy attacks from the side or rear of our battle group or party. Don't be afraid of dying. You have to stop the enemy's vanguard first.

Thanks for reading the long post. The answer to your question is that SNB BO is good enough.
Wishing you a happy green WAAAAAGH!

Hey Jinsu Ty for the tips. Have a blast last night with BO Is really annoying for the opponente and really funny for me. Situation of last night * joint SC, guarding my coppa lvl 31 my level was 23 First fight was pretty normale and we win, the second instead my DPS Is going top greedy and so far from me, some Witch hunter (2) annoying my healer so i decide tò swap guard tò him punt all of them and can save my Angel. I offer my hold the line for incoming DMG of be and Shadow hunter. My healer go back and coming a friendly BG level 19, he sadly diede so i got now melee DPS on me the switch in cant hit me use a shield bash ( dont Remember the skill name sry) Upon Slayer, coming again my coppa friend and re-guarding him. The enemy focus hard me and i can't die for like 1 minute. So they decide to swap target.* This Is awesome. Sorry for my english, isn't my mother language.
