This! Disparity in the RvR lakes at Tier 4 was the biggest problem with the game, imo. There was already a big gap between RR40 and 80. Then the devs went and bumped it up to RR100 just to keep people grinding which just made things worse. It already took an inordinate length of time to get to 80.
It could've been okay if the new gear was just variants on sovereign, perhaps tailored to different roles, rather than just flat out upgrades.
For me that's why I stopped playing anyway.
I liked the gear just made pve a bit stupid hardly have to try and it's not like a 39 can't drop a 100.
just hope wizzy pots aren't added to game

There are a lot of great ideas here. my 2 cents in this are pretty simple. *grins*
OPEN ALL CITIES. more options for city takes and defenses are always good and make location specific prizes (Ork takes a High Elf city and wins a properly nicknamed High Elf weapon or shield etc)/ racial bonuses (Orks get X % bonus when defending Ork capital)
More depth and detail for character creation and progression would be pretty useful. What if i wanted a Marauder in full plate? Or to carry a 2h? To be able to buy the skills i want to experiment with would be a great option to have is all that im saying. Think about it...a fully plated Chosen warrior that can heal himself? the point cost would be high but TOTALLY worth it lol
More races would be great, but it would take FOREVER lol
The PVP has always been awesome but the PVE isnt that great. a bit more detail and balance in the PVE area (dungeons and instances) could be pretty nice. Exp levels and RR need to be redone to close the gear gaps (just a repeat because its true). i would cap the RR at 80 and ease the grind to level 40 and RR80. A story that can keep the player interested is something to look into. New cinematics/ cut scenes, a functional dialog, and a quest system that doesnt require you to be in a group. When all you have left is farming a seemingly endless quest chain solo or near impossible requirements to get some trinket, its easier to just reroll another toon and that gets old.

you dont NEED to be in a group, but when was the last time you completed a T3/T4 PQ solo? a few people can do it but its usually after you need or want the gear or reward. all that im saying is if the story was more interactive and PQs could adjust difficulty depending on how many people are there, it could hold the attention of the player with greater ease.
"Adjust the difficulty automatically..." why, that's MADNESS! no, not really. Rift does it with every tear/portal that appears, so its possible. how many times in every tier have we read in /AD chat that someone needs help in a PQ because they need at least 1 or 2 more people to finish it out? PLENTY and not many people jumped to help out either. the same can be said with dungeons. the usual argument at this point would be "why would you want PVE gear?" "Just go PVP because PVE gear sucks". well, change that too. if you get all of a tiers gear, you get a bonus in the PVP lake with that full set because it DOES take a long time to finish a quest chain but its more worth the effort. would it be better than PVP gear? no, but it evens things out and gives you something to do/work for when the PVP lakes are dead.
Another question would be, "how does it even out anything??" well, when i first started playing WAR, i played alone for a very long time. and when i finally got to the PVP lakes it seems like it was impossible to get a heal or a res so naturally, i got frustrated. i stayed on the PQ and story mode road and farmed gear until nearly T3, and i honestly had a blast doing it because the story was fun to follow. but, you can imagine how bad it was stepping into the lakes by then. if i had gear that was, lets say 20% weaker than PVP gear, it would have been more enjoyable to say the least lol. 20% is only a small reduction in gear stats, i know. but also consider the RR. PVP players will still have an advantage in the lakes but it wouldnt be rage quit worthy gaps in skill (depending on other toon levels and RRs)
SOME people play the game for the lore and im one of those people. ive read a ton of novels on WHFantasy and i have 2bookshelves stuffed with 40k novels to go with it. ive played WoW (which legitimately sucks), Rifts (looks and plays GREAT), ESO (BLOWS), Final Fantasy MMO (eh, could be better) and GW 1 and 2 (nice but short sighted/limited) and all have things that are great and things that need work. the best lore out here imo is WAR but the PVE for WoW, Rifts, and FF wins. for players like me that enjoy playing for the adventure, just make it worth while.

I like how the pq system is now the gear isn't up to par with pvp gear and im fine with that since everyone would jump into pqs to get gear. the only time pq gear is worth farming was to get the pve version annihilator so that you could go and do crypts/wbt for pve conquer then lv for invader and finally tovl.

i get what you're saying Wixxy and i actually agree with you. the PVE gear SHOULDNT be up to par with PVP gear. it should be weak enough to make the player WANT to advance themselves. but thats not what i said. this is just an idea for a more in-depth gaming experience. its possible

I would enjoy classes balance though. Maybe KOTBS and WP nerf to wipe order superiority...
Oh, and the only thing that bothered me is Cities battlegrounds. The attack of IC/Altdorf was really shitty and should be open RVR and not instanced.
