Fun is indeed subjective, but having experienced it, the very concept of an SnB class is honestly quite dull. Duels between two true DPS classes are clearly more dynamic and technical, and the possibility of actually dying from a poorly placed skill adds much more intensity to the fight. That said, it's certainly possible that some people prefer the "sluggish" nature of this type of combat.jafh123 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:37 pm IB is good for solo play, especially SnB IB.
Some people that have been owned by an SnB IB usually criticize the class saying it's not "fun", but luckily "fun" is subjective, so if you're looking for the class fantasy of being an unstoppable dawi in heavy armor then look no further.
Of course, some people say this isn't "fun" because their idea of "fun" is to kill you easily, so anything that kills them is "boring".

Don't let people confuse you.
If you only got back a few weeks ago, you shouldn't feel a huge difference with your parry because that we lost parry is not entirely true.
Only after the rework of how stats work, people with lots of WS gain so much parry, and that was changed in the (same?) year again. Before the rework, WS didn't give you that much parry, and now you have roughly the same or even more than before.
But please don't ask me for the exact numbers. Some smart guys did explain it in great detail here on the forum.

Re: Dwarf character, returning player
Don’t roll Slayer. After all the excessive nerfs it is a pointless class that is not wanted in organized rvr.
The damage reduction to its Retribution ability was a major nerf. Additionally, there is only one way to build the tactic set where Inevitable Doom becomes spammable, but that requires rr70 and dropping either rampage or shattered limbs.
Funnel or fort blob busting was one use Slayer might have had, but the nerf to rampage made it substantially less good at that as well.
Furthermore, they never made the class less squishy or its mechanic less punishing in consideration of the reduced damage, reduced survivability from parry nerf, and its near complete lack of group utility abilities. The % reduction from its AoE snare was also nerfed for some reason, guess they had to make sure the class has nothing good to bring.
Choppa has a great pull, more wounds, and generally has better synergy with other dest melee classes supporting it.
WL and BW simply have similar or better damage, some means of mobility or cc, and their mechanics are more forgiving or offer better return.
If you want to roll a meta DPS on order, go SW, BW, or WL. Unless Slayer is buffed, and with these devs that hate the class that seems unlikely, it is purely redundant or because you like dwarfs.
IB is a solid tank. It is the class I started with in 2017 and still main. My Slayer is for PvE only now.

It has no range that is significant whatsoever and it goes off once in a blue moon.

Re: Dwarf character, returning player
(Correct me if I'm wrong) Order needs more tanks. Slayer gameplay would be maximized if you can find a guard bot, otherwise you will die alot.Luthor230 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 12:45 pm Hi!
Returning player here. I was thinking about starting a character - Slayer but then checked out another threads and now i am a little bit confused. Is it true that SL is very bad?
What about IB?
Which one of those two (or dwarfs in general) would be the most needed?![]()

Idk when Destro got together and decided they would make this collective lie that GTDC is useless but even for destro shills that is such BS. Sure seems weird that a useless skills is specced by all choppas and then used in all game modes.Voldt wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:37 amSaying Choppa has a great pull deserves its very own top delusion of 2025 award.CountTalabecland wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:38 am Don’t roll Slayer. Any pull on an MDPS is going to be strong. Trying to pretend otherwise is laughable. Being able to catch and or briefly stun kiters and healers with a pull as mdps is huge. I would love to have that pull on slayer.
While playing choppa I secure kills all the time with GTDC. I am sorry you are too smoothed brain to be able to figure out how to use the ability effectively, but that seems like a player skill issue. You might try a different class.

Big words for an Order main. Let's just do it like you and throw random accusations without arguments: You want to make it look better than it actually is. Ask any dedicated Choppa (like from Da Freebootaz) and they will laugh at you, mate.CountTalabecland wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 12:27 amIdk when Destro got together and decided they would make this collective lie that GTDC is useless but even for destro shills that is such BS. No clue which fantasy world you live in, but unless you played one to 81 (like me) and/or are not a crying Order dimwhit like you seem to be, please just shut your mouth. We all know you guys love coming on here and crying "nerf this", "nerf that".
Also: You might want to stay away from Destro as you clearly have no clue which classes and skills actually do matter. So stick it up yours where no sun shines, thank you.

Re: Dwarf character, returning player
Do you think the class looks cool?
Do you like playing its role? (tank/dps/heal)
Do you like its playstyle and mechanic?
If the answer to all three of the above is yes, then it's the class for you. Of course, some classes are more meta for different content than others, but if you have fun playing the class that's all that matters.

Take it easy there little guy, I didn’t realize you were going to be so fragile about discussing this. I don’t see anything in your response resembling argument except an appeal to a guild name. I also wouldn’t believe that guild never uses GTDC lol (actually I know for a fact Grufrip and their other choppas all use that ability constantly).
I don’t know why you say I am asking for nerfs. If you could read, you would see that I never asked for a nerf for choppa, I am asking for buff for Slayer.
