I'm not entirely sure, but if I remember correctly, Retribution's damage reflection on the live server wasn't capped at 1 proc per second. Currently it doesn't make sense if it randomly reflects damage back at someone once per second. Without this limitation, Retribution would also be viable. If I had Damage Reflect automatically for 3 seconds for every incoming damage, then some Sorc or Choppa would kill themselves. But as it is, the Damage Reflect is useless. And it wasn't on the live server.

Devs finally nerf op SL/Choppa aoe/st spec.
How can you defend this sick situation that has gone on for so long?
Classes that have excellent ST dmg and in the same spec great aoe should never have been able to do this and they have. It's just that people got used to this unhealthy situation and that's why now they are unhappy.
Very good move by the devs. You want to bomb you have to sacrifice something and be weaker in ST.
Just a rework of sl/choppa 2h build and they will finally be classes like they should have always been.

If they nerfed AOE and buffed ST i would be more fine with it, but currently Giantslayer is nerfed, Trollslayer is nerfed and finally Skavenslayer is nerfed.

Slayer has gone from being a Glass cannon to a Glass trumpet.
Maybe they fix in future sure but until then...

1.I have not defended anything, nor will I say anything about the past, as this is not the current situation and would only repeat discussions that have taken place several times in this forum.
2. I don't know how you experience the server, but I still see the Choppa Train running around and clearing everything in its path. So at least the Choppa AOE spec is still good. I haven't seen Slayer Trains in a while.
3. I'm mainly interested in the Smallscale game and the channel. There aren't many channel abilities and for the Slayer it's the long awaited Lv 40 ability. And then it's kind of useless right now unless you play in an organized WB where you won't get in with LV40 RR50-RR70 for example. Smallscale, scenarios and pugs are the main activities of "casual" players. And these are not usually the ones who overperform. And that's exactly where the current nerf comes in.
4. As I've already said several times, I don't want an overslayer that blows everything away, and if I have to change my build, that's ok too. But I want to be able to play my Slayer in the near future without feeling like the nerfed social case in the group/pug. And I don't think it's too much to expect from the devs to give the class a skillset that you can actually play halfway successfully until the rework.
And for me, the focus is more on small-scale than on WB-AOE play. But the way I read the feedback here, nobody knows how to play the Slayer satisfactorily with the current setting. And that is a great pity.
5. My specific suggestions would be
a) Make Retribution a damage channel that hits a target strongly if you use a two-handed Weapon, hits 3 targets with medium damage if you are dual wielding and hits max 24 targets with AOE tactics as before. Then the ability would be usable for every situation and you could adjust the damage numbers so that it is balanced.
b) Or really do a retribution and take out the 1/sec proc so that for 3 seconds the damage the Slayer gets is reflected. This would also make the ability useful.

360 degree aoe channeled abilities everywhere destruction side (SH, Zealot, now Choppa with Furious stomping, add Zealot in last patch), with AoE punts mostly ignoring immunities (on BO, SH and Zealot, a quarter of all Destru classes)...
While in the meantime, the only threatening mdps AoE ability wich was only dangerous cause of OP rampage, nerfed to the ground, leaving Slayer in a pityful state.
Now to seal the nail into the coffin, ID and Retribution now only useable with the sacrifice of a tactic slot.
While choppa just need to press a button to annihilate everything in a 30 feet radius.
Sad times, really.

You do know that main wl aoe dps ability Whirling Axe is 360 degree, right?
Also, rp has 360 degree abilities just like zealot.

Should have put
aoe 360° channeled like this for eye-catching purpose...
So is the mirrored Wrecking ball ability on Marauder, who also can benefit from 25% arpen (not only for 2 skills unlike WL) and greatly added chance to crit.
Nonetheless, it was not about mirrored abilities we are speaking of here, but, and that was the point of my post, mostly about slayer, and the other NON mirrored abilities only Destruction classes got, without equivalent countepart (or counter) for Order classes.
Slayer got Inevitable Doom who was marginally better than GtdC, thanks to previously OP rampage again, as for only "channeled" AoE 360° if I dare compare...
Now ID got nerfed without tactic, and Retribution, wich is the exact mirror of Choppa equivalent skill, is now F tier thanks to the stupid ICD of the ability, unlike Live game version.
So Choppa can still onebutton to be efficient, while Slayer is now unuseable for AoE pressure in its current state.
