Re: Balance changes?

From what I understand (and I'm pretty new so I might not understand what's going on yet), there have already been balance changes. I was told Warrior Priest lost their Divine Strike (attained at level 6 in Live, healed target and nearby allies for something like 100% of dmg dealt, Grace Spec) essentially for Divine Mend, which I believe is an entirely new ability that uses Action Points instead of Righteous Fury and is a quick (0.5s cast time) single target heal with a 5s cooldown.

The explanation I received about a week ago when I asked about this is that Warrior Priests were struggling to heal and were given this heal in exchange for their melee heal to help them keep up with the ranged healing of the other healers.

So I think they're balancing things already!

(Also, I plan on working on a non-antagonistic way to hopefully get a positive debate about that change in the next week. I just need to find a way to not get the thread off on the wrong foot and have it turn into an unhelpful flame fest. I kind of feel that for T1, Warrior Priests have been slightly funneled away from their melee healing role with this change!)

And I just found the reason in another thread. From Azarael:
If I force Divine Mend to be Divine Strike, the client's info will be wrong and I believe it will also attempt to animate the cast bar and strike animation for Divine Mend on the WP's client - though the ability will appear to be correct on other clients.
So apparently the above is not an easy fix. Darn! And that pretty much renders the entire above post irrelevant or wrong I think!
