That's a pretty negative attitude Penril and as I acknowledged tanks should cc but this is less measurable (see my original post).
It was just a simple suggestion, and would be something nice for some people (e.g. Tesq's reply).
Try and cool ya passion and consider that your opinion doesn't necessarily = the correct answer.
Again, it's just a suggestion, I know it would be useful for some people to tune their spec (under fully functioning game conditions) simple as that.

What's negative about my post? That i showed you that you can't measure a tank's effectiveness just by the damage he mitigates?
Of course Tesq would want something like this, he is the "chosen that defended a keep against a WB". He would just stand on a flag and mitigate damage while his group is probly fighting somewhere else. In the end his group might get butchered but he would have something like 50k mitigated damage, and then take a SS and post it in the forums saying "see? i mitigated the most damage in that SC, i was the best tank there".
Of course my opinion is not necessarily the correct answer, and when i am proven wrong i always apologize. However in this case i am correct: a column showing how much damage you mitigated is not a good way to measure a tanks effectiveness. Its only purpose is forum e-peen measurement.

Anyway... @devs it's just a suggestion that some think would be nice after main development, take it or leave it

"damage taken" stat would be cool @sc, it would help everyone
but i dont need numbers to "justify" my tanking because i understand what i am doing

It's a nice sentiment, but as said by other tanks, the value doesn't matter to them. Now, that there's a few tanks out there who are curious to see their stats in SC represented, it may actually happen with the given possibilities, but it's not that necessary and probably wont be for a long time. Not to burst your bubble, but we won't see this for a while I think x.x

lol like I keep saying its just a suggestion for end stage development, there's no way I'd expect or want this now...
Crickey, it's only a minor suggestion, wish I hadn't bothered now XD

If you really really want to estimate your performance, use Enemy addon. Embedded DPS log is what are you looking for.
As for Exp / renown distribution at the end of the scenario, that's of course another story. Personally, I don't think current state is broken or unfair for tanks.

Or read in /ad channel where someone would say "great tanking that last SC!". That's all i really need, and not some useless numbers telling me i mitigated xxx damage.
BTW, damage mitigated comes mainly from Guard. This means that, if you mitigated a **** ton of damage, that's because your enemies were attacking anything you guarded. So basically, you faced baddies. That's like having a Slayer thinking he is good because he got 7 DBs on Joker.
The post was not to misurate our penis penril, you misunderstood, rather a different way to calculate reward for tanks more near to what we do rather than being based on what your guarded does.
So instead "leech" renow based on your guard you get renow for what you actually done at least it's what i read ont eh second part of the first post.

But as i pointed out, some tanks might get very little damage mitigated depending on group composition or who they are facing, and still contribute much more with their CC than other tanks.
Picture an IB who holds the flag in GoE. When desto approaches him, he starts punting them (starting with enemy dps). His group kills destro and in the end there is only one BO guarding a Zealot. It takes a little while to kill them both.
Now, in that SC the BO would have much more damage mitigated (due to all the guard damage he took/blocked while guarding the zealot) while the IB has almost none. If you want to award renown based on mitigated damage, the BO would gain more than the IB (even though the IB was like 100 times more useful to his team).
