Make it a 2:1 conversion from one currency to another, or whatever ratio makes sense. Keeps tier currency in tier, allows RvR'ers to buy SC weapons and vice versa. Adding more gear to the vendors purchasable with PvP earned currency would help as well. All that blue and purple gear that only drops from players...

i too think, one currency for pvp and one for pve is enough. (seperated by tiers)
(i dont even think it need influence and special rewards, give one currency for all. Killing, Locking, Getting Keeps, Defending Keeps, winning sc) much easier to balance too.
and then make nice vendors with a WIDE variety of items to be bought with that currency.

Again it isnt an issue with the game mechanics but with the player. The game was never about pvp if you wanted that youd be off playing one of the mobas that do it far better than war ever could. Hell even mythic saw that and tried to make a moba out of wars scs and pretty much abandoned the main game.
War was about rvr and all the aspects of it. Youre meant to feel a responsibility to your realm. In the early years when every part of the game fed into the whole rvr campaign it was like this. Guilds and alliances helped players gear up and learn. There was a reason to get everyone working together in all the modes largescale rvr, skirmish, sc, pqs, across all tiers.
Now its about premades and egos. Keep the trash out of scs and we need sorted queues so I dont get teamed with people I dont rate. It isnt about you. Its about your realm. Youre all little parts of a machine and you need to work together from the big cogs to the little ones.
As the game is now those mechanics arent there but they will hopefully be and changing the game to make it more and more like a moba just reduces the soul of the game to an arena clone. Really if it was upto me I would get renown gear in the game as soon as, keep drop low so noone can gear out 20 toons in blues and purple and nerf renown gain to one twentieth of what it is now. Try to lock down people to a real main on a realm. Otherwise you might as well come play swtor as the scs are better, faster and ranked but theres no realm focus at all.

it all boils down if devs can find a solution for the lag in rvr. if not rvr will be dead as its just not playable in large scale.
and yes rvr of the first year was EPIC! but it degraded fast unfortunatly

separate currency is for 1 simple reason its absolutely brain dead that you can get crests for the best gear in game ( sovereign) at char lvl 1

Wat? OP was talkin about combining medallions and emblems...not their tiers.

+1 for unified currency. If you prefer to ORvR, or play SCs, you should reap the same rewards. Seems pointless forcing a style of play restriction on peeps, given the size of the player base. As long as people are actually playing and not leeching I don't see a problem.

I wish this game had the same kind of realm pride that was captured on DAoC, but with only 2 factions that is hard, compounded by how the game was eventually handled in terms of city sieges which completely killed it. The whole T4 "campaign" just turned into a free for all gear grind and pushing the cities never meant anything, and even when they did the lack of the other 4 cities made it get old fast. That forced pride into guilds and self rather than into the realm as a whole.
