Twyxx, I never said I don't get why they did it. In fact, I said the opposite. But consider how early T2 is, and how many more straight up exploits people will discover - is nuking everyone, every time that happens the right call? And even if it is, how do you, as a "normal player" play around it?

Who made you the Sheriff of returnofreckoning.com? What, if I don't join your circlejerk I'm Persona non grata?

I also made the very real example of junking the Keep lord in T2 with pulling and resseting, a bannable offense on Mythic servers and how that could hurt everyone down the line if the devs take offense.

Wipes are like drugs. Once you've begun, you will rarely stop.

19th June 2015, Selune made a prophecy about the last wipe.

The very next day another wipe has cleansed our souls. Even moonlike Elven maidens are unable to prevent the wipes!

Wipe is Life. Wipe is Love.

I suppose that Nihilism is a fine way to cope with anything, even if it's a bit edgy for me.

Obviously, I made myself a "sheriff" of RoR. There's plenty of players that post on the forums with help, advice, opinions, and sometimes a bit of cold hard truth. The majority of my posts on the forums are to help people with technical issues, and the rest are usually throwing my opinion or ideas behind a problem. I certainly don't post to harass people.

Consider it friendly advice, if you're so uneasy that your stuff might get wiped, this probably isn't the server for you just yet.

This is exactly why no sanctions are being applied for doing this. I'm working on the door issue right now, but in the meantime, I see no reason to waste staff time patrolling keeps watching out for players pulling the Lord with Squig pets.

We did it precisely because of how early into T2 we were.

There were 2 reasons for that wipe taking place:

1) Tier 4 Bolster was being used to farm heroes. This is the "exploit" component.
2) Hero respawn was not long enough - they had the same respawn time as a regular mob, yet a 50x drop bonus to compensate for their intended difficulty (which, I'll readily admit, is being compromised by other bugs.)

The choice was whether or not to remove the blue and purple gear that had been massed by players camping heroes in the first days of T2, given that the issues would be fixed for others later. I felt that it was reasonable to clear the unintended dump of better gear.

In light of this post, you may feel that the post made about the issue was unnecessarily aggressive. Whether it is or not depends on whether or not you consider abusing extremely quick Hero respawns (instead of reporting them) in combination with their other bugs to be unacceptable behaviour.
