Clearly you didn't read any of the original post, we were que'ed within seconds of city becoming available and were not trying to avoid anyone, bring on the premades! easy win cities are super boring.. but after 30 mins of queue and no pop people were annoyed that they had wasted their time and logged off, a token reward for being in the queue from the start (for both sides) whilst less than an actual city pop, and chance of stage bags at least takes the edge of a frustrating experience. Please read and understand, before saying people are crying when you have not fully understood the purpose of the post.

True enough, and we did check server pop before que'ing but people I was with are gearing their destro characters and saying 'just x-realm' is more of a potential workaround then addressing the particular issue mentioned above faced by many. I have multiple characters on both sides but didn't fancy getting everyone to relog just to stand a better chance of getting pop as most of time if you queue fast you are ok, but just lately there has been a few times where this has not been the case and a few token royals would have eased the pain after being in queue from the start. Edit: Also a few people had not been logged in long and had the lockout to destro when this was mentioned, which also mean X- Realm is not an option for them.

It would be nice if they could do something to help with people on lockout to that faction and not always getting into organised such as the above (if there was a viable/exploit free way of implementing something)

Sorry maybe i took your spot, i played order in fort and then city as destro. Got in 10s after queing. First tip is to q fast as 24 man, always works. Second is to play order, always get you in

The idea of a loser prize is interesting, and certainly helps take the edge off getting screwed by server pops. I think it can’t be anything more than 1 royal/invader depending on RR though.
A more involved potential solution would be having a backup PVE version of the city with reduced prizes for 6 mans that didn’t get in where you could earn a few Royals as well.
The ones on the Live server that would start were like PvE, they would kind of scoop up all the players still not getting pop and solo que'ers (so at least everyone got into the city) but would often have imbalanced numbers/compositions, but it wasn't an issue and sometimes did lead to some interesting fights as a 12 man (organised) fighting 24 (mainly pugs) were quite interesting as the premade had the coordination but the pugs had the numbers.. and nobody que'ed and left empty handed after standing around for 30 mins in q.

Population is not always an indication of rvr presence. It is annoying for sure to defend zones and forts with AAO (as is often the case
for destro early EU morning) and then not getting into city. As destro is outnumbering order for cities even when order greatly outnumber destro in the lakes, xrealming would just destroy rvr.
Ideally, some sort of reservation system should exist but I understand that would be qite difficult and not in any way perfect. One thing to do would be to reduce que time. Sitting for 40 min doing nothing and then not getting in is a pretty horrible design. Those that are online when last fort is conquerd have plenty of time to form a wb and travel to the city gates in the 10 min before que start. Quetime could easily be reduced to 10 min instead of 30. Let those online when a city is up play the city.

so instead of solving the problem with unequal population we ignore the problem and reward some player in a overpopulate realm for doing nothing.

You cannot solve unequal population, that is just something that shifts and is in the players hands not the devs. but giving a token reward to people after 30 mins of que'ing for city from very start (not doing nothing, as they are trying to get fights/city), but cannot x realm as they are faction locked etc.. is something that can be implemented. I have been in airports before and been told my flight has been delayed and the airline provides vouchers for food and stuff to lessen the frustration of passengers sitting around with nothing to do. PR exercise, but better than just saying "sorry about your luck" as they want you to have a good experience (in-spite of the crap luck) and use them again.

as long as player decide by there own to play a overpopulate realm and stay 30 min in front of altdorf doing nothing people should start asking why.
faction lockout is a shabby answer to this question.
people prefer to play destro for many reasons. Some times because of appearance some times other reasons...

Did you queue as a 24 man.
To be honest there have been occasions recently when as Order I missed out when queing solo or in groups, which never happened in the past. But every time I have queued as a 24 man I have always got a pop, and usually a pop within 2-3 minutes
